Tell us about yourself.
My name is Loes White and I am a 21-year-old student. My everyday style is typically high street with a mix of designer accessories. As a student, I tend to dress quite casually during the day. My favourite look at the moment is wet-look leggings paired with a plain white tee, chunky jewellery and a khaki jacket. I've also just got these studded brogues from Zara which are beautiful. I am wearing them to death!
Where do you live, and what trends are big there?
I live in London. People in London are pretty kooky dressers, so the trends are constantly changing. At the moment, I have noticed the sheer look taking hold, as seen in Alexander Wang's SS13 show, and I think this will get bigger in summer. Also, people are really into the black-and-white look and chunky heels at the moment.
What is your favorite brand/designer? What do you like about that brand?
My favourite high street brand is Zara because they make such classic, high quality and long-lasting pieces; I especially love their coats, bags and shoes. My favourite designer brand is Fendi; I feel that they consistently produce really good collections season after season and their accessories are to die for.
Which celebrity do you think has great style and why?
I think that Victoria Beckham has really great style despite the fact that a lot of people tend not to like the way that she dresses. I think that her style is very classic and polished and that she always looks like she has thought about her outfits. I also love her collections and love when she wears pieces from her own label.
What are your personal aspirations/goals?
My current aspiration is to get a first in my degree, which I am working very hard for at the moment! After that I would like to develop and grow my blog more, move away from home, and hopefully, get my dream job working at a fashion magazine.
How has Polyvore affected your life?
I think Polyvore has allowed me to develop more of a personal sense of style; putting outfits together online is faster and cheaper than doing it in reality, but if you create a set that you really like then you think, ‘Oh, well, I'll try this for real.’ It's also allowed me to make connections with other members and to appreciate other people's style.
Describe your personal sense of style.
I think if I use one word it would be ‘classic.’ I like buying staple pieces such as well-fitting jeans, white T-shirts, winter coats, etc. I also love wearing heels, so I'm hoping when I go to work I can wear them all the time!
How would you describe your set style?
I think my set style is more edgy than my real style, but I think it's still classic, with lots of black and white as well as strong shoes and bags. I think my set style also has the kind of style that people want to dress like, with fun pieces and items which will get you noticed.
How often do you sign on and what is the first thing you do when you sign on?
Usually, I sign onto Polyvore every day, and usually the first thing I do is check my notifications and look at the top sets on my feed.
Got any requests for the Polyvore team?
I would like the homepage to be a bit more interactive, with a mixture of sets, competitions, members and more, as well as options to share looks via social media. I also would like the Polyvore team to make their own sets (or have a sort of group or something with members who make sets which are then published by Polyvore) for style ideas and more.
