The reality is just in front of us it is just that some do not want to see it. According to an estimate of 1 out of 4 people in UK are suffering from a form of mental illness. This supports the study made by NIMH or National Institute of Mental Health that an estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older, about one in four adults suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder.

Contrary to the belief of many, being diagnosed with a mental disorder doesn't always mean you are crazy. There are a lot of people with OCD, PTSD, Panic disorder and Bipolar who we see working and trying to live normally, performing their day to day tasks. Some people who are around us may even have a mental issue and are not even aware of it.

This is not the first time I dedicated a set for sufferers of mental illnesses and their families. I am doing this in order to raise AWARENESS that we should not discriminate these people in any way! Strong people help the weaker ones and not the other way around. Some of the celebrities we are a fan of are suffering from a form of mental illness and so why would we view them differently from the people around us who also have mental issues ?

Never ever underestimate these people’s pain. You wouldn’t know how hard it is until you go down that road yourself. It is also very wrong to mock them or make fun of their suffering. Being sick is not a choice sometimes it runs in the family or sometimes it is an outcome of a horrific experience or abuse. What these people need is love and understanding. If we cannot show it to them, what kind of human beings are we? I guess if that’s the case we might be called mentally ill as well.

As the saying goes, “Not every disabled person uses a wheelchair, Not all disabilities are visible”.
