  • George Nelson Bubble Pendant - Crisscross Pear
    shophorne.com
First designed in 1947, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp Collection has stood the test of time. The simple structural shapes with the innovative use of taut plastic over fine steel wire were born from George Nelson's frustration to buy a Swedish-made silk lamp which produced a soft light. This unique use of shape and material produces a diffused light that is free of glare while offering an abundance of illumination. These pieces are part of the permanent collection in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and remain icons in modern lighting. Modernica discovered these designs and reintroduced the series in 1989 with a dedication to reproducing these stunning, classic lights with authenticity and craftsmanship. Modernica still uses the same materials and methods to hand craft each piece in their Michigan facility. The crisscross pattern the Crisscross Saucer Pendant adds a depth to the pattern with the same lighting qualities. It is available in 2 sizes, with 6 feet of cord and a 5.25 inch brushed nickel ceiling plate.

  • Bocci 14.1m Single Pendant Mini
    ylighting.com
Design by Omer Arbel.Made in Vancouver, Canada by Bocci.Unlike most contemporary lighting, the 14 Series pendants are visually quite subtle in and of themselves — they do not dominate a room. Instead, they are designed for clustering — gaining tremendous visual strength when multiplied — the effect being of many tiny candles encased in floating spheres of water. The light interacts with the imperfections and bubbles of the cast glass to make a visually rich halo of light. Cast glass is an organic process — imperfect by nature — so each piece produced is unique. This special, atmospheric pendant light can be installed outdoors or in a variety of commercial and residential applications. Main photo by Cory Dawson. 14-UNCUT from Bocci on VimeoThe 14 Series are a family of low voltage pendants designed to be clustered in groups. Each individual pendant is an articulated, seamed, cast glass sphere with a frosted cylindrical void which houses a 10 watt xenon or 1.8W LED lamp. The cast glass is available in the standard clear, rich amber or a smoked grey. Each pendant ships with 10 feet of wire that can be adjusted on site. Recommended minimum height is 12" to the bottom of the sphere. The miniature brushed nickel canopy is ideal for new build applications, as it is designed to work with a remote transformer. A transformer is included with every two fixtures installed (LED) and every five fixtures installed (xenon). Offered with a choice a mini Innie or mini Outie canopy, just over 1" D, which creates a subtle profile that will essentially disappear into the application surface.Note: LED model is not dimmable (unless ordered as a cluster of 5+). For custom cord lengths greater than 10' please call (866) 428-9289 to place order. Custom cords are $20 per 10' increment (Maximum length is 100 feet).
