Caviar nails—creative, fun and statement-making. From fingernails that look like they've been dipped into 'hundreds n thousands' sprinkles, to deep and dark beaded nails that have the appearance of being adorned with only the finest of real black caviar. This nail trend has quickly gained popularity and is a must try for Spring 2013. Give Yourself a Caviar Nail Manicure What You Will Need: Base coat Nail Polish (colour of choice) Micro beads (available at most craft stores) Top Coat Step 1: Buff and shape your nails and be sure that the nail bed is free of any old polish. Apply a clear base coat, wait to dry and then apply a thin coat of your chosen nail polish colour. Step 2: Apply a heavier handed second coat of colour to one hand, and allow the polish to become sticky (around 10 seconds). Next, over a sheet of paper, towel or a plate, pour the micro-beads over your finger nail, ensuring the entire nail bed surface is covered completely. Step 3: When each nail is entirely covered, firmly but carefully press and secure the beads down with the pad of your finger. Repeat this step on the next hand. Step 4: Apply a small amount of top coat over your nails to seal the beads in place. The look should hopefully last around 2-3 days before the beads start to fall off. The main idea is to have fun and experiment with whatever colours you choose. Get creative and let your nails do the talking! By Karli Smith, Melbourne VIC
