  • Celtic Shamrock Ceramic Wall Art Tile
    modernartisans.com
Long recognized as a symbol of Ireland and the Irish culture, the shamrock was first associated with Ireland by Saint Patrick. Legend has it that St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, used the three leaves of the shamrock to visually teach the Holy Trinity during the early days of Christianity. However, the shamrock was also considered sacred in pre-Christianity pagan religions, in which the Celts considered the three leaves a representation of a Triple Deity (Triple Goddess) and used the plant as a common charm to ward away evil. This unique ceramic tile depicting the shamrock is handcrafted of stoneware clay, hand-painted, provided with a white crackle glaze, and high-fired to a permanent finish. The edge of the tile has a wavy, paper-like edge, forming a nice contrast with the black wooden board upon which it is mounted. The wall hanging measures 7.5" square, arrives boxed, and is ready to hang. Individually handmade in Manitoba, Canada.
