  • Kate Bosworth transforms into a sixties siren for Vs. magazine
    More info
Kate Bosworth transforms into a sixties siren for Vs. magazine. In possibly her most beautiful fashion shoot to date, Kate Bosworth has been transformed into a 1960's bombshell for the spring/summer 2013 issue of Vs. magazine. Dressed in an array of stunning outfits (put together by her good friend and long-term stylist Cher Coulter), the star looks like a seductive film siren. In the revealing interview the 30-year-old talks about her new film role as Billie in the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's Big Sur, released in the UK later this year: ''I read On The Road in my early twenties, but when I came on board for the film I went out of town for two weeks, turned off my phone... and just read a lot,'' she said. ''I started to get comfortable with the language, because to speak Kerouacian is almost like having to perform Shakespeare in the sense that if you’re just saying the words you’ll lose the audience because Kerouac wrote with very little to no grammar, so each actor had to find their individual beats and rhythm.''The actress also talked about her relationship with the film's director, Michael Polish, to whom she is now engaged: ''Even before we were together, Michael understood me as an artist and filmed me in a different way so that he was able to bring things out of me in a safe way. And ultimately after we wrapped, our relationship blossomed into a love story.'Read the full interview in the spring/summer issue of Vs. magazine. Photographs by Guy Aroch. Click through our gallery to see more stunning images from the shoot...
  • Photography by Beck Rocchi
    More info
Beck Rocchi inherited her love for photography from her dad, after having showed her how to use his Nikon when she was 13: "- Yeah, and it simply grew from there. He was such a gifted and passionate photographer, and I believe I would never have found it without him. He used to photograph my mum, so beautifully. After that I was always the girl with the camera in her bag. As the years went on and technology advanced it went from a small film camera, to a small digital, to a big digital SLR. I never studied it - but I think that is what makes my style a little different. Its all about how you see the world - and that is in your mind and your heart." After growing up in Melbourne, Beck is now based out of beautiful Byron Bay, surely an inspirational location. Other sources of inspiration are beauty, color, light, symmetry, movement, reflections, details, mistakes, and of course life: "- But most of all the power of capturing moments in time that will stay frozen forever." Her work hasn't been published in any publications yet, but something tells us it's not far away. Her plan for the future are to embrace, grow and develop her photography, writing, and her mind. Of other things: " - Travel and documentary photography has always been the thing that fires me up, that stirs me deeply and gets me excited. I love throwing myself into a foreign environment - among new visuals, strange customs and unknown places. I feed off new ideas and challenges which means I get restless easily in familiar environments of mundane routine. It is an exciting ever-changing pathway for me to continue on!" Here's some of her work: More pictures inside the post.
  • Guri Weinberg Blogs on Working with Mackenzie Foy
    More info
The fabulous Guri Weinberg, who will soon be seen in Breaking Dawn as Stefan of the Romanian coven, has once again updated his blog. This time Guri is writing about his experience filming with little Mackenzie Foy (Renesmee), and what fun she was to work with. Read more below: I met Mackenzie Foy in October, 2010 when some of the new cast in the Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn flew into Baton Rouge for some make-up/wardrobe screen tests and to discuss our roles with director, Bill Condon. While we were there, we got an invitation from the producers for a dinner party. Imagine our surprise when we show up and see Rob, Kristen, Stephenie, Ashley, Kellan, Nikki, Jackson... and Mackenzie. Mackenzie and I bonded immediately. She has a lot in common with my wife - child actor (not anymore, obviously, but my wife was a child actor), a Scorpio, a martial artist and an ace student. And the ability to make me feel…very juvenile. I'll explain. It started with the hand [...]
  • Lost in Wonderland by Elouise van Riet-Gray
    More info
Elouise van Riet-Gray has been shooting for a few years, but it wasn't until recently that she started pushing it into fashion photography. In fact, if you had asked her a few years ago she wouldn't even know she was going to make her living of photography at all: "- It took me a long time to work out what I wanted to do for a career and it wasn't till after I had children that I finally worked out I was creative. Although I must credit my best friend for giving me a photography book for my 21st birthday, she obviously knew me better than I did then. I really love the collaboration and the creative process of fashion due to combination of eclectic creative minds." Shooting for a lot of commercial clients, Elouise hasn't been able to dedicate much time to fashion photography and getting published. But today she's making her debut on Ben Trovato with a truly magical exclusive story called Lost in Wonderland, featuring wonderful model Lydia Hunt with Viviens Models. Holly Janet Ryan did the styling, while Meg Durrington did hair and make up. Elouise says this about the story: "- The location was an inspiration for this story. Its at a place called the "Old Museum" in Brisbane. Its just on the edge of the CBD but has this crazy garden. Well cared for by Eduardo, he was so proud of his oversized corn, I had to take a shot in the corn....the one with the blue dress and yellow hat. It initially wasn't intended to reference "Alice in Wonderland" but it seemed to head that way during the shoot, so we casually pursued the feeling." She loves the ability to be theatrical and surreal with fashion photography, and says colors, and especially bright colors inspires her: "- My work generally ends up coming back to strong colours and unusual colour combinations. The photographers who stick in my mind also use bright colours, Greg kadel, Troyt Coburn, but an exception to the rule is Rodney Smith." Ben Trovato is thrilled to present Lost in Wonderland by Elouise van Riet-Gray, for Ben Trovato: Credits Photography and Retouching - Elouise van Riet-Gray Assistant photographer - George Le Couteur Hair & Make up - Meg Durrington Styling - Holly Janet Ryan Model - Lydia Hunt @ Viviens Models Full story inside the post.
