It was a stimulating trip to Turkey that laid the framework for BCBG Max Azria’s rich Fall ’13 line, which was brimming with heavy blue and aubergine prints, luxe layers and an almost edgy, bohemian feel (each model clad in a slouchy beanie, naturally). “Last September, I was in Istanbul and fell in love with the prints,” shares Lubov Azria, Chief Creative Officer of the iconic brand. While the historic city certainly helped set the tone for the design house, gritty street art also proved to be of interest. “There’s a great graffiti artist named Phil Frost—he does amazing texture in his work, so that we took even further for fall.”
