Once again, Nicholai Wiig Hansen has created a design for Norman Copenhagen which unites function and aesthetics in a simple design. The refinement of the tabletop's sharpened edge complements the lacquered legs beautifully and gives the table a pure and minimalistic feel. The name, Tablo, refers to the English 'table' and the French 'tableau', the latter meaning a scenic, organized arrangement. With its simple expression, Tablo fits into most interior styles and is available in a large and a small version. Tablo is quick and easy to assemble without the use of screws. Nicholai Wiig Hansen says: “For me, it is paramount that function, materials and aesthetics all come together. The design needs to both be useful and solve a basic need - without compromising the visual expression. Being easy to assemble is therefore part of Tablo's function.” Tablo comes in two sizes and works great by itself or when placed together with other Tablo tables.

  • Normann Copenhagen Solid Coffee Table
    shophorne.com
Solid is a minimalist coffee table made from natural, solid materials that unite Scandinavian craftsmanship with the basic principles of Japanese architecture. The result is a timeless and sturdy coffee table with a simple design stripped of unnecessary details. The designer, Lars Beller Fjetland, has based Solid's design on a more than 1,000 year old Japanese structure called Torii. Toriis were originally the entrances to Shinto temples, which were used for worship and storage of sacred objects. The reference is evident in the choice of materials that are in tune with the original wood and stone used for the Torii gates, but with a Scandinavian twist. The Solid table consists of a base of Nordic ash and a marble table top, and is simple and intuitive to assemble without the use of screws or glue. The parts lock together under the weight of the table top, forming a sturdy coffee table with a harmonious and luxurious look. Lars Beller Fjetland says: "My basic philosophy as a designer is to design furniture that achieves a sense of both timelessness and durability. With its simple appearance, clean lines and natural materials Solid is a good example of a product that I think and hope will last for generations." It’s simple and Nordic expression makes Solid look elegant with most sofas.

  • Normann Copenhagen Box Table
    shophorne.com
Industrial, simple, and versatile. Box is a small table with a lightweight feel. The steel material makes it strong and gives the table a durable expression. The industrial design of the table is accentuated by its simple, orthogonal construction and stylish framework. With Box, Danish designer Peter Johansen wanted to make a steel table with right angles as the bearing design principle for both the tabletop and legs. The designer has taken advantage of the fact that material is strengthened when a piece of metal is bent and created a solid table with a unique look. One of the fine details is the rounded edges that soften up the table's sharp lines. It is natural for Peter Johansen to use his hands for bringing ideas to life. His designs are typically created using 1:1 scaling. He then modifies and fine-tunes the proportions of the design. Peter Johansen says: ”I had a clear picture of the table in my head right from the beginning. So the design process was more about finding the exact proportions. Even though the Box Table is made of steel, it has a light feel. Just like when two pieces of paper are glued together. And it is precisely the interaction between the thin lines and the strong material that create a nice contras t”. Box is available in two sizes, three shades of blue, a cream, and a classic grey. The table useful for many purposes, for example, as a coffee table, side table, or bedside table. The table has handles, which makes it easy to move around.

    shophorne.com
The Danish design company Generous Design has created a table for Normann Copenhagen. It is made of solid oak and has a simple, Scandinavian expression. Nord is a table of contrasts that is light as well as robust in its design. The table has a simple and stable construction that supports the table top in an elegant manner. The tabletop's chamfered edges and the angle of the legs create a line that virtually lifts the tabletop up and makes it appears floating, while at the same time revealing the construction and round legs of the table. Generous Design says:” The table is a natural gathering place for nice experiences over dinner. A table is special, as it brings people together and creates both connections and room for them. I wanted to make a classic and contemporary table. It had to be durable and robust but also have an airy feel to it. • Normann Copenhagen My Table - Rectangle
    shophorne.com
My Table is an all-round table with a simple construction and harmonic look, designed by Nicholai Wiig Hansen. The table shares the rigorous and elegant design of My Chair with its rounded corners and same angles and curves of the frame. The design is timeless and has a harmonious and inviting feel. The table consists of a hard-wearing laminate table top and a steel frame. On closer inspection of My Table you will notice a number of understated details, bearing witness to the fact that all of its features are deliberate and carefully thought out. For example, no standard parts have been used on the table, but instead customized solutions have been implemented allowing a completely aesthetic experience no matter what angle you look at the table from. Nicholai Wiig Hansen says: ”The aim of My Table was to make a table using the simplest kind of construction possible, while at the same time making sure it was both versatile and durable. It has been a long and challenging process and although it doesn't look like it when you see the finished result, it is extremely complicated to make a product with such a simple feel. There is no room for a single wrong proportion or angle and one millimeter too much can interfere with the whole overall experience.”

We want to make beautiful objects for everyday use, whether that’s an indispensable item of kitchen equipment, a clever floating shelf or a beautiful vase that adds the finishing touch to your living space.Wherever we can, we work locally with craftspeople around the world, preserving skills while creating the best modern design. The result is elegant, unpretentious and utterly addictive (show it to guests and they will be opening and shutting Turning Table for hours). “My design is quite functional,” says Theresa. “But I also think it’s important that the objects we surround ourselves with have a warm and poetic part.”
  • Normann Copenhagen Form Table - Square
    shophorne.com
The Form Table has a tabletop covered with linoleum and the edges, cross bars, and legs are made of solid, FSC certified American oak. Highly qualified furniture craftsmen make the wooden frames. The legs and cross bars are sanded by hand after they have been cut. After this, the parts are assembled using the molded connectors. The tabletop is made using medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Solid oak profiles are glued on to create the curved edges of the table. A layer of laminate is then used to cover the tabletop in order to increase its strength and ensure an even surface, so it doesn’t begin to bulge over a long period of time. Finally, the table is finished with a layer of linoleum cut by hand for an exact fit. Linoleum is a durable material, which is easy to maintain. It is also resistant to scratches. Linoleum is made of a combination of linseed oil, resin, limestone, saw dust, and natural pigments and it is known to be a highly functional material with anti-bacterial properties. Furthermore, it is very comfortable to the touch and has a beautiful matte finish. Together with the warm glow from the oak, this makes the Form Table calm and harmonious to look at. The quality materials and the rounded design language used for the Form Table give it a sensuous and welcoming expression. The legs are mounted onto the tabletop using specially developed molded aluminum connectors in the same color as the tabletop. The curved edges and rounded corners of the table soften the look, while the connectors work as an industrial contrast to the natural materials.

The rounded, inclined legs give stable hold to the Ding couch table by Normann Copenhagen, safely holding the glass top. Ding3000 explained about their couch table: ”The three legs seem to get through themselves by impossible paths, and it was our intention to make that magical detail the center of attention. That’s the reason why we chose a transparent table top, in order to direct the focus of our table to the interplay of the legs.”

  • Terence Woodgate Unison Side Table
    dwr.com
British industrial designer Terence Woodgate is a Royal Designer for Industry (RDI), the highest honor awarded to designers in the U.K. He’s known for his obsessive attention to detail, which is beautifully illustrated in his Unison Table (2011). Visually simple, this two-tier table is actually quite complex in its design. In place of fasteners and external hardware, Unison uses a lower shelf as the structural component to hold the legs firmly in position. Its glass tabletop rests on neoprene pads, and Woodgate had to be sure to get the weight just right to make the pads grip sufficiently. Visible through the tabletop is the lower shelf with exquisitely cut half-sawn wood veneer. Made in Slovenia.
