GIRLS OF THETA HOUSE-
Alaska de Sauveterre
friday 23rd of november, 2012; Black Friday. Sales, sales and more sales. Time to get a new wardrobe or maybe new phone. Whatever you need today is the day to get it.
"I'll shop with Tommy while you two look around" Scott's mother told us, holding onto her youngest son's hand and wandering toward the toys. I was greatful I wouldn't be facing the piles of toys and Tom's begging for the latest lego. I felt Scott's arms wrap around my waist, it hadn't happened whilst Thomas was with us. It was against the law in the mind of a young boy for his brother to kiss or hug a girl, in his words 'I don't want the germs to get you.'
"It's time for me to spoil you now" Scott spoke, as we walked along the isles of the store. I had forgotten the name of it but it wasn't as bad as I thought; I was never the shopping type.
"I don't want you to buy me unnecessary gifts, Scott" I told him, pulling away gently to look at him. "You should save your money, not spend it on me" I added, smiling gently. I had always been about saving as a child, not spending the cash on items I'll never need nor use.
"But I want to" Scott smiled, pulling me to close to him again. "I want to spoil you and treat you like a princess" he continued.
I shook my head, "you already treat me like a princess, you don't need to buy me anything" I paused, "you express your love to me through actions not purchases."
"But-" I cut him off by shaking my head, taking his hand and walking to the clothes section. Though I wasn't a spender or shopper, I like to admire clothing. It was window-shopping that was quite a specialty of mine.
"You'd look bangin' in this" Scott said, before quickly smacking his mouth shut. He clearly hadn't thought before speaking, something that rarely happened lately but I turned to see the dress he was imagining on me.
It was pretty though I wasn't entirely sure it spoke me or would look flattering on me. It's bright red colour stood out from the other dress and it's lace detailing was one of the major reasons I picked it up, feeling it with my finger tips gently. It was the peplum style that made me shake my head a little, it wouldn't look flattering at all.
"You don't like it?" Scott asked, seeming a little shocked though attempting to brush it off. "I do" I answered, looking down at it and noticing that it had been marked down lower than half price.
"But?" Scott began, frowning.
"I don't think it would look good on me" I responded, putting it back on the rack though my eyes never leaving it. "You're kidding me, right?" Scott scoffed.
"I'm not kidding, I don't kid about my clothing choices, Scott" I replied, trying not too seem to serious about the serious topic. Well, a topic that was serious and had always been serious in my mind.
"Ally, you look good in everything and you'd look perfect in this" he said, picking it up in his hands. "I don't" I shook my head gently, walking down the isle and looking at the other clothing on sale.
"I'm buying you this" he said, following me. I turned around to argue but he had the dress in his hands and it didn't appear as if he would let go.
I didn't know how to begin; the purchasing of a gift or the fact that I wouldn't be comfortable in a skin-tight dress that showed lots of leg. "Please, Scott, no" I said softly, shaking my head and reaching to take the dress from him.
"I'm buying this for you, Ally" he said, not budging and not letting my hand touch the dress. "But-" this time he cut me off.
"No but's, you'll look gorgeous, as always, when wearing this dress" Scott spoke, walking past and ahead of me.
I let out a sigh; he was incredibly stubborn. I didn't see the point in arguing any longer, he wasn't going to change his mind nor was I any good with arguments. I had this tendancy of losing them all the time.
