Me vs. You
The crowd’s chanting was in unison of the adrenaline that shot through her veins. Her body was beating with hyperactivity as she always got the euphoric rush when she got up on a stage. She wasn’t nervous, nervousness didn’t run through her genes and that’s what made her to believe that she was born to be a star, not an emotionless aloof.
Once the first stride of lyrics came out of her mouth, her body was floating among the crowd that followed every word of hers.
“I don’t know any rules, no matter what anyone says, even if they keep blocking me
Even if I fall down, even if I cry, my path is one
I don’t need anything else
My heart is just going toward you~”
The song ended and she let go of the mic with clammy hands. She looked at the crowd with a smile that could be mistaken as nothing but a poker face. Her drummer, Seungjin, draped an arm over her shoulder as the others jostled around off the stage. She was treated like one of the boys and she liked it that way. She was more comfortable that way.
She never liked to step out of her comfort zone.
“Man, it really sucks that you have to leave.” The guitarist spoke.
She smirked. “We all can’t be in our 20’s.”
It was true, she had 2 more years to go to be considered an adult. She was not only the only girl but also the maknae of the band.
“Hyun.” She looked at the cheesy bassist. “Ya gonna miss us?”
“Ehhhh~” All the boys gushed in mockery.
Jihyun couldn’t help but throw every possible thing that was thrown able in that room. After an intensive game of catch, dodge or die, the back room door was opened.
“Did you see that band? Garbage.”
Jihyun met eyes with the culprit. A rather tall boy that she could sense had the Prince Syndrome all over him. It was better off written on his forehead.
He held and emotionlessly composed face that had rudeness vibrate off of it. Jihyun wanted to slap it off and tried to convince herself that she never looked like that. But in the reality of it, her face could almost be identical to his at the moment.
“Wrong room.” He spoke nonchalantly before existing along with a group of boys.
“Was he talkin’ bout us?” Seungjin asked.
Jihyun’s fingers tightened on the balled up paper she was going to throw. The males looked at her and simultaneously tried to stop her, but she was already out the door.
She sneered and threw the ball with all her might, it accomplishing her goal. It hitting the golden hair tower that stood out more then the others.
Kris stopped and placed his hand on his hair before looking over his shoulder at the androgynous girl.
“Are you crazy?” His respond was as he fully turned to look at her.
Jihyun glared at him. “Are you crazy?” She retorted.
Jihyun took a step forward. “Garbage?” She looked at him up and down. And although Kris was use to being checked out, he felt offensive when the girl before him did it. “You should look in the mirror sometime.”
Kris’s eyes nearly bulged out his head. He wasn’t sure if he had heard right. If he was in some alternative dimension where his looks didn’t get him everything he wanted.
“I’d like to see you try.” Jihyun crossed her arms once she felt more comfort from the towering band mates behind her; they were far more intimidating then his friends.
Kris snapped out of his shock and looked at her with his ‘b*tch face’. “Fine.” He spoke calmly. “Watch.” He turned on his heels and waltzed down the hallway.
“Woah, go Hyun!”
Jihyun ignored the boys praises and trotted after the narcissist. They followed her suite and entered the crowded room. She then realized who exactly those guys were. She hadn’t seen them perform but had heard from then by whispering fan girls. She was shocked by the change of the crowd, usually they leave out from the back so seeing such a different crowd then her own was the first. It was filled with poppy fan girls that screams seemed murderous.
Kris stepped on the instrument empty stage and stared at Jihyun with mockery. She couldn’t help but scoff at the childish act. A sudden fast tempo beat roared and the challenge began.
Within those 3 in a half minutes, Jihyun had read the boys pride completely and felt sorry for how he fell for such trickery.
“Well?” Kris spoke in the mic.
Jihyun’s eyes nearly exploded as the situation was put on blast. The guy had nerve, she could admit. But he was digging his own grave. The crowd of girls began to question each other of whom exactly their beloved Kris was talking to.
Jihyun removed herself from her friends and walked through the crowd, garnering mixed looks that made her want to go back to her own world; because this world here was somewhere she didn’t belong. The closer she got to the stage, the more she wanted to punch the cocky awaiting face. She stopped in the front of it.
She raised her hands and clapped. “Waaaahhh~” She shook her head in exaggerated pity. Her face turned hard as she stopped clapping and glared. “I feel sorry for you.”
“What?” Kris asked taken back. Definitely not the response he was expecting.
“I spent nearly 4 minutes of screaming banshee’s that yelled only your name, which I assume is Kris.” She ignored the vocal lashes of the offended girls behind her. “Only your name, not your group or the other members. Honestly I feel sorry for all of you.” She looked at the sweating boys behind Kris. “When a crowd sings the lyrics of your song along with you, then challenge.” She crossed her arms. “So in other words-” She smirked at him. “You lose.”
She nodded at her friends to follow her on leave. Kris just stood their with ringing ears and sweat rolling down the side of his face.
“Owned!” The bassist snickered.
“Boomshakalaka!” Seungjin taunted.
Kris looked with a confused face that soon turned with emotion and before he knew it, he was jogging after the victor. The cold weather chilled his warm body perspiration.
“Ya!” Kris hollered.
Jihyun stopped and looked over her shoulder to him. “What?”
Kris licked his lips and swallowed with a dry mouth. “What’s your name?” Smoke coming from his mouth due to the coldness.
Jihyun shrugged, her skin looking more paler due to the cold. “Ask around, you’ll find out.”
And with the last chic statement, Jihyun rounded the corner and left Kris to ponder on his match. Ending with two beings that are so different yet so similar cross paths. The stars are align which indicates that their paths will for sure cross again.
Soooo? How was it?
I’m a little rusty on writing :/
