  • Arne Jacobsen Upholstered Drop Chair
    dwr.com
Arne Jacobsen designed the Drop Chair (1958) for his masterpiece, the legendary SAS Royal Hotel (now the Radisson Blu) in Copenhagen. It was originally manufactured along with Jacobsen’s Swan™ and Egg™ Collections but in very limited quantities. In hibernation for more than 50 years, Drop has finally returned. This compact chair with rare heritage is as fresh and vibrant today as it was back then. Constructed of strong ABS plastic with nylon reinforcement, the seat embraces the occupant while still allowing freedom of movement, resulting in a surprising level of comfort. Minimal tubular steel legs provide stability without stealing too much attention from the sculptural seat. This is the authentic Drop Chair manufactured by Republic of Fritz Hansen. Made in Denmark.

  • Jean Prouvé Prouvé Standard Chair
    dwr.com
After opening his own workshop in 1923, Jean Prouvé began producing furniture of his own and collaborating with some of the best-known French designers of the day, including Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand. Prouvé always strove for the most efficient designs, evident in classics such as his Standard Chair (1934). This chair, which comprises a utilitarian yet visually arresting combination of steel and wood, reflects the designer’s engineering pedigree and intense focus on, connections and production. Voluminous straight back legs bear the brunt of the occupant’s weight, and tubular front legs provide just enough support for the rest. Finely shaped wood seating surfaces conform nicely to the body. Suitable for residential and commercial use. Made in Germany.

  • Mater Shell Lounge Chair - Brown Saddle Leather, Soaped Oak
    shophorne.com
The Shell Chair is developed out of Michael Dreebens ongoing interest in traditional craft practices in North India - in this case saddle making. Exquisitely made saddles have been produced in India for centuries, and although some horse culture persists, it's waning as India becomes more technologically developed. The Shell Chairs attempt to incentivize this skilled trade by providing these artisans with a new market for their craft, and hopefully encouraging them to pass it on to younger generations. The shape of the chair is an homage to Scandinavian design of the mid-twentieth century and embraces some of its core values: it's clean of line and is intended to emphasize the leather forming and stitching, it's deeply comfortable, and it's durable – like the saddles it's derived from, it's crafted from thick, top-grain leather, and with reasonable care, will last for decades. Frame: Soaped Oak. Leather: Premium brown saddle leather
