Rolling retro. Woody rolls nostalgic in a nod to the vintage California surf scene. Capturing the carefree spirit of classic surfer culture, artist Parvez Taj "was inspired by a surf day in Malibu, a town where I spent two years in my 20s." The multimedia image is printed on reclaimed Douglas fir planks that have been harvested from old abandoned buildings in Southern California. Documenting the history of each building and the source of each timber, Taj selects planks which are then hand-assembled and printed with eco-friendly, UV-cured inks. Weathered and distressed, each print is evidence of the concept of beauty as rendered by the elements of nature over time. Parvez taj is an LA-based artist who has pioneered the use of UV inks as a fine art medium. To achieve his original images, he freely mixes photography, water-based and acrylic paints, and UV inks with a variety of substrates, such as aluminum, canvas, cork and recycled woods. Each multimedia piece embodies Taj's creative vision and international inspiration. CB2 Edition LMTD: CB2 Edition LMTD original works are offered one time only in a small reserve. “Squaring of the Circle” is a collection of cushions that has been designed by the Spanish designer Criatian Zuzunaga for Zuzunaga. The vividly coloured design strings pixels in a graphic pattern together. Individuality is the topic from “Squaring of the Circle”. Each cushion possesses an individual, dynamic and unique look. The colours of the graphic patterns thereby reach from bright and expressive to soft and covered. Zuzunaga offers the cushions in three colour worlds: Fire, spirit and soul. They all use different colours in other combinations. The vivid look from “Squaring of the Circle” is the expression from Cristian Zuzunagas’ desire of filling the everyday of the people with colours and of creating positive emotions. The graphic design is inspired by architecture and the details images of city maps. For the pixel-like design, Cristian Zuzunaga explained that he expanded digital city maps until they only displayed gross geometric forms. Zuzunaga understands the design as metaphor for cities of the world: It shows how a city is composed of the combination of endless individual single pieces and receives an unmistakeable character in this versatility. Zuzunaga manufactures the cushion “Squaring of the Circle” out of the cover fabric Trevira CS. The robust fabric is washable at 40°C.
