After living and working in Arizona and Italy, fabricating environments for zoos, aquariums and theme parks, Oras designer Vilija Marshall ended up in the world of film and stop-motion animation. She worked as a mold maker, fabricator and sculptor in San Francisco and L.A. and then moved to Northern England to work at a small but internationally known puppet-making company. Once back in the states, she left animation to pursue several new paths of interest. But the need to design and create would not let go. So, she left her job, and two babies later, the company Oras was born. The minimal but not simple Oras Stripes Wall Mobiles are made in Northern California using stainless steel and aluminum. The stripes are coated with a semi-gloss lacquer. They hang from anodized aluminum rod with custom-made, acid-etched, stainless steel spring-loaded hooks. Custom mounting brackets and instructions are included. Minor assembly required.
