  • Jasper Morrison Alfi High-Back Barstool
    dwr.com
Born in England, Jasper Morrison was raised in both Germany and the United States before his family settled in London, where he attended Kingston College School of Art & Design and the Royal College of Art. Morrison is a self-described conceptual designer, taking familiar shapes and repurposing them into fresh ones. Believing that what you don’t see is as important as what you do see, he designed and engineered Alfi (2015) to be an ordinary chair with extraordinary invisible qualities. Its seat is made from reclaimed post-industrial waste, and its base is made of responsibly harvested wood handcrafted by Amish woodworkers. Adding even more extra to its extraordinariness, Morrison shaped the seat as a nod to cane chairs seen at sidewalk cafés found throughout Paris. The result is simple and simply beautiful, and one he’s pleased with: “It’s one of the most comfortable chairs I have designed.” Made in U.S.A.

  • Modernica H-Base 25" Counter Stool - Arm Shell By Modernica
    2modern.com
The Case Study Fiberglass 25” Counter Stool is a simple and clean look. Pick your favorite shell for a visually solid chair that will look great in any kitchen. The Fiberglass Shell Chairs were originally designed in 1948. The shell chairs were first available in the spring of 1950. The first runs of the chairs were produced in only three colors: greige, elephant-hide gray, and parchment - all of which had interesting translucent qualities. The chairs were distributed until 1983. In 2000, Modernica revived this potentially lost art of high-pressure, molded fiberglass. Modernica creates each shell, by hand, one-by-one, in their Los Angeles factory - just as they had been designed, developed, and produced in Southern California in the 1950s. Modernica uses all of the original presses and specialized equipment obtained from Century Plastics. Modernica creates each chair with the charge of adhering to the original tactile qualities, texture, and characteristics that alone are unique to the fiberglass shell chair. Choose from a wide range of shell colors and chair base options. Modernica offers the flexibility to build a chair to suit your individual style and needs. Features. Handcrafted in Los Angeles, U.S.A. Fiberglass chairs contain no (PBDE) Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers. Fire safety tested. Available in many colors of fiberglass.

  • Philippe Starck Emeco Stool Seat Pad - Vinyl
    dwr.com
After updating the iconic 1006 seat by Emeco for the Hudson Hotel in New York City, Philippe Starck took on the Emeco Counter and Barstools, stripping the classics of their back and arms and giving them an irresistably slender profile. Simple, elegant and commodious for bodies of all sizes, the stools contain up to 80% recycled aluminum and are handcrafted to be stronger than steel using the same proprietary 77-step process as the classic 1006 Navy Collection. First designed as prototypes for the Mies van der Rohe retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in 2001, the Bar and Counter Stools are solutions that the museum thought Mies van der Rohe himself might choose today. Made available to the public in 2002 and equipped with optional vinyl seat pads, they have a cool neutrality right for any environment, artfully blending contemporary crispness with the contours of '50s modernism. The optional Seat Pad, in black, is made of vinyl and is easily cleaned with a damp cloth.

  • Magis Design Magis - Tom The Wild Bunch Barstool
    connox.com
Tom & Jerry by Magis is a stool which finds new points of view with its contrasts. Thanks to its low size and the adjustable height, it is versatile usable. The design by Konstantin Grcic is based on classic workshop stools. The colourful elements with the height adjustable screw create a colour and material contrast – since what would Tom & Jerry be without tension between the main characters? Since the stool by Magis is still acting unobtrusively, it can be used in living and object rooms equally. The seat height of the stool (Tom) can be step-less adapted between 70 and 86 cm. The corpus of the stool by Magis consists of massive beech wood, while the screw and the connecting element are made out of polypropylene. The barstool Tom has its counterpart in a small stool called Jerry.

  • Hay - neues dänisches Design Hay - Wrong for Hay Revolver Barstool
    connox.com
Revolver deserves its name: The barstool from Wrong for Hay is able to turn 360°. The Revolver barstool by the designer Leon Ransmeier is a classic elegant stool, which is characterized by straight lines and the finely curved seat. Moreover the barstool from Hay (and from Established & Sons before) has a surprising element: Journal bearings are in the base ring. This is how the top part of the stool is rotatable around 360°, which is the origin of its name: Since the rotation of the chair reminds us of the rotation of a revolver’s magazine regarding the appearance and the sound it makes. Besides the rotatable seat, some visual variations of the stool are possible – since the displaced struts of the turned chair give a different appeal to the chair according to their position. The barstool looks gorgeous on private and public rooms as well. Wrong for Hay produces the Revolver barstool of powder coated steel. The stool is available in two sizes and it is robust, longevity and easily cleaned because of its material. The Wrong for Hay Revolver is available in grey, red and black.
