Haha. I couldn't help but read your duckface comment. Isn't that one of the most ridiculous things you've ever seen? It's just impossible to look intelligent while making that face. Thoroughly entertaining, though! ;)
@sophisty I'm trying to imagine the Bardot pout but only coming up with the Angelina Jolie duckface phenomenon. Which I got to experience firsthand a while back when I went shopping with a friend of mine. :D She looks like this perfect Barbie doll and then she was trying on stuff on in the fitting room with the weirdest expression on her face. I couldn't figure out what was going on and then by the time the fourth garment appeared it dawned on me: duckface! You're welcome to google it if you want to ruin your evening. I've been trying to control my lips ever since...
What a terrific vintage look! I remember in the early 1960s, when Brigitte Bardot became popular, she was first photographed in a dress that looked a lot like this one. Soon, all the girls in my Junior High School were wearing copies! (My mother made mine... it was a lovely lavender gingham with cap sleeves, a fitted top with darts, and a full skirt). We all walked around trying to imitate the famous "Bardot pout," but of course we just looked silly!
