When I spied this cute little black dress with lavender tie at the high waist, I knew I had to design an outfit paying homage to one of my favorite musicians--Peter Tork (occasionally of The Monkees and Two Man Band, regularly of Shoes Suede Blues).
Peter has made black jeans, a black shirt and a lavender tie a signature ensemble when performing with his blues band.. For this set, a short waisted black jacket with faux leather collar offers a classic cover of his bomber jacket while maintaining harmony with the flirty dress. Cute tights from Modcloth add just a hint (more) of whimsy to the look.
Keying in on his unique sense of style and the pair of snake boots he's sporting in the photo, this outfit includes artificial snake skin shoes (flats or heels) and handbag--100% man made materials!
An all around Zen guy, the jewelry included here plays off both his beliefs and his ever-present guitar strap. Speaking of his guitar, it just wouldn't be a tribute set without one. Peter has played a lot of guitars over the years, but recent tours appear to feature a red Fender Stratocaster most often.
If (like Peter and Martin Briley) you feel like Milkshake, no need to find a diner! Just keep this luscious lip balm in your handbag for sweet and kissable lips.

Peter's bluesy voice can still make the 16-year-old girl deep down inside just a bit...weak at the knees.
