"So, at this point we should be doing Cover Girl ads. However, I find Cover Girl to be far too... mainstream, and let's face it, horribly boring. SOOOO... We're going to be styling a M.A.C. ad. It is a FASHION set, as usual. What happens from there is up to you...Just remember that it IS an ad for MAC Cosmetics. Perhaps you should try to make it look like one?"

i've always been inspired by the MAC Viva Glam ads, they are so over the top and have featured some of my favourite celebrities. so i chose to style an ad for a "new" (self-created) viva glam lipstick colour, entitled viva glam x (that would make it #10, in the future (mac's on #7 now) or unknown ;) ) it's a metallic fuchsia-purple colour, similar to virgin rose by special effects, which is my current and best hair colour :)
furthermore, i wanted to style viva glam because it's for a good cause - the MAC AIDS Fund. MAC has contributed more than $100 million over the past decade.
the viva glam ads are very, fittingly, glamourous.
at least recently, the models have sported shiny corsets, gobs of decadent jewellery, and little else ;)
i tried to recreate the aesthetic of viva glam ad models such as dita von teese, eve, christina aguilera, fergie, etc.
i thought rose mcgowan was a great choice. i have always admired her, and her lips are definitely worthy of viva glam.
