I accompanied @trickster-kat and other members of the Traveling Ladies in walking around Venice with our cameras. I went boho for the expedition and rather aggressively donned sneakers. I also wore a few of my Miriam Haskell pieces. Walking makes me hungry so I took along a (very) carefully wrapped pasticciotto, which for these purposes (as a loyal member of the Galactical Donut Brigade) I consider to be a Venetian doughnut.

Here are a few shots of the church of Santa Maria della Salute, whose twin domes I particularly wanted to see, as they are such an important part of the Venetian skyline and appear so frequently in literature and art. The church is located at the mouth of the Grand Canal where it intersects with the Giudecca Canal. I also bought a postcard of the church as depicted by one of my favorite artists, and one known for painting Venice and its light, JMW Turner.

The church is called St. Mary of Health, because it was built in St, Mary's honor at the end of the plague of 1630.
