Thursday -- Burlesque is coming to our hotel, providing the entertainment for the week. Head down to our theatre to check it out.
"Hello." I said to Jules as I took a seat next to her at the theatre. Tonight we would be watching Burlesque, something I felt obligated to go to even if I would rather be at the casino's.
"Miss. Addie, I'm surprised to see you out tonight." Jules smiled at me, her blonde hair brilliantly twisted on top of her head.
"Yeah, yeah." I said jokingly. "I get it. I've been a little too obsessed with my job lately."
"A little?" Jules teased. "Just kidding, it's good to have you out. Speaking of, where is that lovely boyfriend of yours?"
"Ah, this isn't really his scene. Ben likes to go out with 'the guys'." I stated, rolling my eyes.
"Of course." Jules said, just as the lights went down and the show started.
About an hour into the show, my cell phone started to ring obnoxiously. I blushed deeply and slipped out of the theatre, already annoyed at whoever was calling me.
"Addison, it's your father." Great. He was probably going to say that he needed me at the station, which meant my one night to myself would instead be filled with investigations at the casino's. "We really need you. Do you think you could come in?"
I sighed. "Yeah, I guess I can make it, Dad."
"Great! I'll meet you at the casino, okay?"
"Yeah." I mumbled and clicked off the phone. I warrily left the theatre, sending a text to Jules: 'Sorry. Duty calls. -Ad'
