One word to describe my Polyvore NYC/FNO Community Meet-Up experience: “POLY-nomenal!”
I was extremely nervous the day of the meet-up. I feared that upon meeting the Polyvore team @jess, @nadia and @chrystalatpolyvore and community members @emyemoemu, @karineminzonwilson, @painthead, @fuur, @mauriciofredes, @tabithasue (@cutandpaste), @julietav, @amber-nicki-rose and @nikkeeb , I may do something silly like spontaneously curtsy. I mean, I was running a film strip of every bad scenario in my head. Did you know that your body goes through the same physiological responses whether you’re nervous or excited? Knowing this, I turned those nerves into excitement. From all the smiles, giddiness and happiness I encountered, I think my dimples in my cheeks got deeper.
We started off with a welcome brunch in the Grand Bar at the Soho Grand Hotel. This is where we introduced ourselves, had some mouth-watering food and received the FNO gift bag full of goodies. Checkout some of the awesome swag we got? http://polyv.re/UAJ1kf I’m just beyond grateful.
We then made our way in a yellow taxi cab to the meat packing district to get our hair all dolled up at Blow. We got blowouts and ended up looking like movie stars. Two thumbs up to the staff at Blow for giving as sample hair products... can’t wait to use them.
We met in the front lobby to head to the FNO Pre-party held at the Polyvore Office on Broadway in a beautiful white stretch limo – we fancy huh? I can’t even begin to tell you how phenomenal everyone looked. We all rocked different trends and styles that all embodied the different personalities you see on Polyvore. We got to meet the amazing team behind Polyvore and all things amazing. What an honor. Endless brownie points go to the team for their genius idea of serving these super cute mini cupcakes.
After visiting the office, we made our way through the insanely wild streets and walked to the @woolite Washed Boutique FNO Party. What an amazing event. We had the honor to meet and chat with Cat Deely and Jaqui Stafford. It was surreal. I also bumped into blogger Anna Cottrell of Tulip Louise - http://bit.ly/P4URyW . A double–nod to all things @woolite ! They hosted an outstanding party.
The night didn’t end here… no siree bob… after the party, we decided to walk the streets of the city and check out other brands and parties. One of the highlights was the Uniqlo store. We came across this live DJ, and this random girl busting out the most insane moves. I couldn’t help myself; I just had to join in. I wish there were a youtube video catching how killer this girl’s moves were. Oh and by the way, @jess recommends Uniqlo’s skinny jeans… apparently they fit like a glove and are very flattering. I think I may have to buy out their whole fall collection sometime this week.
The night… or should I say morning… ended at the Soho Grand Hotel, where there was this happening party of all things chic. I mean of course… the Polyvore clan was in attendance.
Everything @polyvore did was first class. I believe they exceeded everyone’s expectations, definitely mine! I thank the entire @polyvore team for their hospitality and generosity. You seriously know how to make people’s dreams come true, I know mine did! Thank you for this wonderful experience that I will cherish forever and ever.
p to the s: it's going to take me awhile to catch-up with everyone's sets... let me tell you...
