Barton Hollow: http://www.polyvore.com/barton_hollow_bh/group.show?id=132755

✝ High fashion roleplay created by @the-clary-project and @luxecouture on November 3rd, 2011.

"Ain't going back to Barton Hollow
Devil gonna follow me e'er I go
Won't d.o me no good washing in the river
Can't no preacher man save my soul."

"I'm still the little Southern girl from the wrong side of the tracks who really didn't feel like she belonged."

"Southern summers are indifferent to the trials of young love."

"The Southern character is opposed to haste. Safety is of more worth than speed, and there is no hurry."

"We'd come out here, just a few of us, and when the train comes, we'd make out like crazy."

"My daddy hates me wearing these boots."

"Praise the Lord, the South has risen again."

✝

Barton Hollow. There, the sun rises early, and everyone looks at it from the fields. You're already awake then, maybe in the fields, maybe not. But by six o'clock, everyone in town is already awake. The sun travels quickly across the sky, painfully hot. The cars sputter and do not always start on the dustier roads. The preacher tells you not to dance so lewdly, but you do it anyways. Your parents tell you who you are friends with and who you aren't. Everyone gives orders in Barton Hollow.

The only thing that moves fast in Barton Hollow is gossip. And that moves faster than the speed of light. You may be in the South, but that doesn't mean anything. After all, everyone here knows that there's nothing less charming than a true Southern belle.

Here in Barton Hollow, you have your rich Daddy's girls, those real-life debutantes with their fancy cars and their fancy clothes and their perfect hair and their big ranch houses. Those are the girls you only thought you knew in movies, but they really exist in Barton Hollow.

On the other hand, there are your farm-working girls, the ones who have to push themselves to work hard through school and manual labor just to keep their families from dipping into even more debt. These girls are farther from debutante than anything, but that doesn't mean they're not gorgeous, doesn't mean they're not happy, doesn't mean they're not just as vicious as someone like Alice Lilac.

While you watch all of these girls float around the town, going their ways, one thing you see in common with all of them is the way they talk. And they talk about everything: they talk about boys, they talk about Hollywood, they talk about shopping, they talk about TV shows, they talk about magazines, they talk about school, they talk about food, they talk about work, but most of all, they talk about each other.

*NOTE: This is NOT your typical "southern" roleplay. It is high fashion, like this outfit, and is in no way like a "country free for-all" or something. I live in the South and I really dislike the stereotypes people have come to give us, and so this roleplay is to show that the South is more than just cattle and cowboys!*

P.S. I included my Top 3 Favorite designers in this set, which all happen to start with the letter M: Miu Miu, Marni, and Marc Jacobs :)
