  • Serena & Lily Bungalow Sofa

We stayed true to the originals, wrapping sustainable rattan poles with numerous sticks of slender rattan to create these wonderfully angular frames. Seats and surfaces are meticulously handwoven for days to create beautiful hidden patterns, a design tradition that brings artistry to every piece. Our only update? More generous proportions and luxurious cushions for modern day comfort.
  • Stephen Kenn Military Canvas Sofa - Canvas & Marbled Brown Finish
    shophorne.com
Los Angeles based designer Stephen Kenn has long been inspired by clean and simple design aesthetics and the stories inherent in vintage military fabrics. In 2011 he combined those two loves by creating The Inheritance Collection. The collection was the result of an exploration of how furniture is constructed, and then a desire to distill the process down to the barest bones. Likening the process of furniture construction to the way the human body is constructed, the frame, belts, and cushions became the bones, muscles, and skin of each piece. Composed of a steel welded frame with a marbled brown finish, custom webbing belts, smooth leather straps and re-purposed WWII military fabric for the cushion covers. Each piece is unique, and carries small imperfections, hand-repaired tears, and markings from the soldiers who originally used the material. The shade of olive canvas will vary from piece to piece.

  • Normann Copenhagen Ace Sofa
    shophorne.com
Flat-packed upholstered lounge furniture sounds like a crazy idea. Hans Hornemann considered it a requirement that the function did not involve any compromise with the design. Ace is constructed from molded plywood, covered with molded foam for the highest possible comfort. The back is flexible, which gives it a springy feeling, ensuring great sitting comfort. In order to reach the goal of this ambitious project, Normann Copenhagen has specially developed production tools, brackets, screws, legs and fabrics. Ace compellingly conquers a room with its relaxed, yet stylish, attitude. Ace is delivered in two attractive fabrics, a vibrant velour and a flecked wool textile, as well as soft, exclusive leather. The woolen textile, “Nist”, has been developed in-house by Normann Copenhagen to complete the characteristic visual style. Nist is manufactured using an untraditional weaving technique and contains 52 percent linen, which produces an attractive natural flecking of the fabric. The velour brings Ace a seductive elegance, while Nist gives the chair a more stringent, masculine look. Ace has legs in stained beech, in the same color tones as the fabrics for a uniform expression. The stain allows the wood’s natural flame patterns to shine through and adds a discrete play to the monochrome color universe consisting of five inviting shades. In addition to the Ace lounge chair, the Ace collection includes a sofa, a dining table chair and a footstool. Legs: Stained Beech (for Textile), Painted Oak (for Black Leather) or Lacquered Oak (for Brandy Leather). Designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, for which Jacobsen was the architect. A single upholsterer hand-sews the fabric onto the frame of Swan. The range makes it easy to find a sofa suitable for any decor by encompassing everything from neutral grey and brownish tones to deep and tranquil shades of blue and purple as well as energetic and bright yellow, green and red and a classic black.
