    2modern.com
The MOARE lamp, originally designed in 2003, is based on the fact that its superimposed shades cause an optical effect of asymmetric waters, known as the MoirA© effect. Since then new formats, supports, colours and sizes have been added, so the current SERIE MOARE deploys numerous combinations to satisfy very different applications: from large public spaces to the more domestic uses. In 2008 a black shade was added which creates a similar effect to that of the grey shade but more contrasted, highlighting even more the lights and the shadows by which the true night owl loves to be surrounded.

    hivemodern.com
Design Arne Jacobsen, 1956. Stainless steel, linen shade. Made in Spain by Santa & Cole. Designed for the SAS Royal Holtel in Copenhagen, the AJ Royal combines a polished stainless steel stem and an elliptical linen shade that seems to float. The stem is off-centered on a cast iron, elliptical base. Inside the shade, two bulbs, one pointed up, the other down can be operated independently of each other. Jacobsen used these lights dramatically in the hotel lobby to cast chairs aglow while throwing the rest of the lobby into shadow. The Royal is the essence of Jacobsen's theory that economy and functionality equal style. The Royal floor lamp is offered with a white linen shade. 73.6" h | 14" d | 9.2" w | requires 2x100W E26 bulbs.

  • Santa & Cole Dorica Floor Lamp
    hivemodern.com
Design Jordi Miralbell & Mariona Raventos, 1994. Cast iron structure, handmade natural cotton ribbon. Made in Spain by Santa & Cole. Formal classical columns are the inspiration of Dorica's balanced design, where the sculptural metal base echoes the form of the elongated shade. Between shade and foot is a rust-colored iron alloy shaft whose upper tip is covered in leather, to be used as a handle. The cylindrical foot is small but very heavy in order to give stability to the lamp, considering that it accounts for only 1/5 of the lamp's total length. The height of the Dorica makes it ideal in creating a warm diffused light. Includes dimmer. 57" h | base: 4.4" | shade: 10.8" dia. | requires 3x60W E26 bulbs.
