“Serena love, it’s not like that!” She and I stepped out of the cold and into a corridor on the way to DADA, currently my least favorite class, She laughs
“Right, and you two tangled together the other day wasn’t making out either.” Exasperated I sighed, L and I were just….I had no idea, what were we? We’ve been friends since he’s transferred and I guess its always been that way unlabeled and flirting, I knew he entertained other girls, but I’ve never really minded.
“Hey, that was….” I faltered…
“Ha!” she suck her finger at me. “Exactly. Oh c’mon Quinn admit it! You do have feelings for him, his European wiles are too much for your American heart!” she imitated a moony girl, I shoved her.
“Speaking from experience I see?” crossing my arms I stared at her. We stopped.
“No-” she paused, her name was called from father down the hall. I looked up it was Van waving her over.
“Go, I’ll meet you in class.” She noded and continued down to her friend and they continued to class. I stepped over to the wall examining the conversation I had just ended. Did I really love Louvel? It couldn’t possibly be that could it? The butterflies in my stomach when I catch sight of him and the fact that I can never sit still when he’s around? Of course not, just infatuation, It was the just the thrill of a person of the opposite sex touching me. It has to be. I rubbed my brow in exasperation and continued off to class.
I groaned inwardly when I slid into my seat at the sight of the cupboard. In the middle of the room, I had completely forgot today was Boggart day. I peered around the room to see if there were any other naysayers about this happening. Of course there weren’t. I sighed and pulled out my notebook for the columns, ‘Has Serena Smith found love with one of our European Counterparts?’ I scribbled out. Remembering how she had reacted when I suggested she was talking from experience, of course I would have to research further to find something usable.
“All right everyone settle down!” Plumera strode into class, while everyone took their seat. I turned round in my seat as Lo entered the room, late again; rolling my eyes Plumera noticed him.
“Mister Richelieu, Not a pleasant way to start out, please take a seat.” Barely acknowledging the professor’s warning he kissed my cheek, slid into the chair next to me and looked over at my headline.
“What’s this you’re working on, more secrets to expose?” He reached for the notebook in question it as I pulled it under my old borrowed textbook, It had slipped my mind to actually bring my copy along.
“If I told you, half of the school would know by the afternoon, you’d put me out of business.” He scoffed.
“C’mon, you can trust me.” and flashed a winning smile and a wink. With my momentary distraction he pulled it away from me and gazed down at the bold print. “I see.”
“It isn’t you is it? You know I don’t like to put you in the columns…” I placed my hand on the table to ask for it back.
“No,” he shook his head, “I rarely speak to her, must be Lance.” He handed it back, I stifled a sigh of relief.
“Oh, well, good, I assume, anyway….” I put it away as the first student strode up to the cupboard.
“Ridikkulus!” she screeched as a polar bear turned to ice.
“Oh well okay, “ L sent me a questioning sidelong glance.
Nearly half the class had their bout with the offending piece of furniture when my name was called. My head snapped up from my secret spilling and peered about the room. “Yes?” unsure of what I was to do.
“The cupboard Miss Tyler.” He gestured toward the ominous cabinet. I swallowed.
“Right.” My eyes wide I took up my wand and stepped up to it. The door flew open and thousands of copies of the school news flew into the class room. A girl screamed at the airborne paper cuts, horrified with what they might read I picked up a copy, I stumbled, How did it know I thought?
“How could it know?” I yelled. The class began to pick up copies, panicking I had frozen. I was over all over, I was finished! I spun in a circle my ruining dancing through the air like snowflakes from hell. Gaining resolve I raised my wand and called out. “Ridikkulus!” Immediately the all of the papers folded themselves into paper cranes and began to go up in contained flames burning into nothing. My breathing heavy and the class stunned into silence I shuffled back to my seat.
