june | 13 | sunday - nate is taking us all up to maine to go on his boat! there will be chips, drinks, food, and music. be sure to bring a bathing suit, sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. we'll be getting home late.
"S, have you seen Nate?" A frantic looking Blair ran up to me.
"Isn't he steering the boat?" I answered obviously, and she was long gone out of sight in a millisecond.
I went to the edge of the boat and looked out to sea. The waves were so calm today, a perfect day for a boat party.
Someone was leaning next to me and I turned to see Jenny.
After a few seconds of silence I acknowledged her presence, "Hey."
"Hey." She responded and turned to face me. "I heard you were dating my brother."
"Yup." I answered. And there was silence once again.
"Good. He really loves you." Jenny said and I couldn't help but smile. "Do you love him?"
"Yeah. I think so."
"You think so?" She asked and raised her eyebrows.
"Jenny! You know what I mean." I laughed and she joined me.
"How's it been for you lately?" I asked and she shrugged her shoulders.
"At home it's been Serena van der Woodsen 101." She chuckled and I smiled.
"Sorry." I apologized, "Does he really talk about me that much?" I asked.
"Am I blonde?" She stressed the point and I twirled my ring around my finger.
"It was nice talking to you again J." I nodded and she was pulled away by Vanessa.
"Okay then." I walked towards the bar.
"Anything." I told the bartender and suddenly someone poked up behind me with a hug.
"Hey S." He said and slid on a stool next to me.
"Nate!" I exclaimed and grabbed my drink off the counter and took a sip.
"You look nice." Nate complimented, looking down and then meeting my eyes.
"Thank you." I replied and watched him take his shirt off. Not like that you filthy perverts.
"How's the whole you and Dan thing?" He asked and I was shocked.
"Great! Yeah, good. Thanks for asking. Actually, i just spotted him. I'll see you later!" I saw Dan walking up behind Nate and I patted his shoulder as I rushed off to see my boyfriend.
"Hi." He waved and I pecked his lips.
"Where have you been?" I asked.
"Talking to people." He responded, shrugging his shoulders.
"Cool...I--" I started to say but he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in for a long kiss. I kissed back after he pulled away and we sat down on a lounge chair with me in his lap. We basically just talked for a while, and I made fun of him for talking about me so much to his family.
The thing about my love life right now was that I knew I loved Dan. He was my boyfriend and kissing him was natural. It was as if we were made for each other. But, then there's Nate. I was always fighting and pleasing him so he would stay by myself. It was exciting, and our love life was full of drama. Blair was with Nate now, and I was happy for the two of them, but have you seen Chuck at home?
Well, of course you haven't. He just gets wasted and high all the time, he is what you would call: depressed. Another word would be lonely. And his only relationships are the hook-ups with young, New York City tourists that would sleep with him for a good night and sneak out the next day.
I knew life put Dan and I together, and for now, he was the one for me.
"Hey, you OK?" He asked and I nodded and put my head on his shoulder.
"Yes, now let's talk about Dan 101." We laughed and continued talking.
