  • RFA Fine Art "Rhapsody In Twilight" Painting
    horchow.com
By artist Claudette. Giclee on canvas. Hand-embellished. Wooden frame. 56.5"W x 2.25"D x 44.5"T. About Claudette: Claudette's artistic history started early: from the time she could walk, Claudette had a paintbrush in her hand. Her natural talent and interest in the arts were fostered by her artistic family (everyone in her family is involved in some area of the arts, from music to architecture to textiles). Claudette's formal artistic education included a year at the Gerritt Reitveld Art Academy in Amsterdam. There she studied the city's architecture and Old Masters' paintings as well as the the modernistic style taught at the school. She received her degree in art from the San Francisco Art Institute and worked both in northern California and the Southwest before joining Rosenbaum. Claudette's work reflects her background in its perfect balance of the old and the new. She feels the strength in her work is "to see the reflections of the past and remember the present," and she achieves this through a mix of both loose and tightly representational strokes as well as by often using a muted palette. She frequently chooses people as her subject because they provide a narrative quality to her work, but all of her paintings tell a story.
