  • Mud Australia 2 Cup Round Teapot
    shophorne.com
Mud Australia is a Sydney-based modern design company, specializing in durable dining- and serving-ware. The plates, mugs, bowls, and serving platters come in a variety of colors that blend together in a unique way - so you can mix and match, or simply choose a variety of shades that all complement each other. Founded in 1994 by Shelley Simpson, Mud Australia pieces are designed with an emphasis on linear form and function. Artisans work with only the highest quality materials including Limoges porcelain. Each piece is crafted by hand - this means slight irregularities in size, glaze, and texture may occur. This is to be expected with any handmade product, however, and is part of what makes each product truly unique and special. The porcelain clay is tinted throughout, as opposed to simply coloring the surface with a glaze. This gives a unique depth of color to each individual piece, and an above average consistency for handmade products. The interior is then coated with a clear glaze, while the outside is left natural, and lightly sanded to create a beautiful hand-feel. With time and frequent use, the exterior will become smooth from handling, adding to the individuality of each piece. The pieces are safe for use in the dishwasher, microwave, and even the oven - perfect for everyday use! Available in a wide variety of colors:

  • Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Full Lace Teapot
    shophorne.com
The Blue Fluted pattern is part of Denmark's cultural heritage. To connoisseurs all over the world it is synonymous with Danish porcelain. Blue Fluted is Royal Copenhagen's very first porcelain dinner service and is a measure of the skill, tradition and craftsmanship at Royal Copenhagen. Blue Fluted Full Lace has actually been in existence since 1775, but originally only in the form of dessert plates. It was initially developed as a full service just over 100 years later, in 1888. In common with the Plain and Half Lace services, all lids are decorated with pretty snail shells, and all parts are assembled, painted and glazed by hand. In the openwork lace border of mussel decorations, each individual hollow is cut out by hand and represents the ultimate in elegant modeling. All items of Blue Fluted Full Lace are assembled, painted and glazed by hand.

Steeped in design. The Mood Matte White Teapot was created exclusively for CB2 in collaboration with LA-based designer Gere Kavanaugh. Her long and notable career portfolio includes corporate and residential interiors and innovative product development. Now more modern than ever at age 85, Kavanaugh is one of the trailblazing female designers of her time as the third woman to receive an MFA degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Still prolific today, her work celebrates her passion for creating ingenious design from the simplest of materials. Both classic and contemporary, the teapot squares off a clean white stoneware form topped with an element of surprise. Mini red knob pops on contrasting round black lid in a play of shape, proportion and color. Kavanaugh has had a fondness for the ritual of tea since her childhood in Memphis, Tenn., where her family had afternoon tea every Sunday, "so I have a passion not only for teapots but for the whole event." Inspired by Kavanaugh's archival designs dating back 30 years, this teapot pours on modern charm with the Mood Dinnerware Collection. Learn about Gere Kavanaugh on our blog. Details and Dimensions: Mood white teapot. 8"Wx4"Dx3.75"H. Designed by Gere Kavanaugh. Stoneware with matte white glaze. Top is glazed black with red knob. shophorne.com
The mandate for designer Tassilo von Grolman was to create a new aesthetic for the enjoyment and enhancement of tea drinking. The result was a teapot with its own unconventional harmony. Function and contemporary design were truly synthesized in the classic teapot. The pot made of heat resistant borosilicate glass is cradled in a stainless steel frame. Tea leaves are placed in the stainless steel mesh sieve, and hot water is poured. The tea leaves unfold freely, as they release their full aroma; after the appropriate steeping time – 3 to 5 minutes – the sieve is removed and placed in a caddy (bowl).

  • Eva Zeisel Granit Teapot
    dwr.com
In 1926, the Kispester-Granit factory in Budapest hired Eva Zeisel, who was 20 years old at the time, as a designer. It was only her first job, but the company was so impressed with her initial work that they created a special art department for her. The employees, who normally produced ceramic sinks, all wanted to work with Zeisel as she brought elegant vases, whimsical rhinoceros-shaped ashtrays and beautiful teapots into the product mix. The factory closed her department after just one year, but the experience sparked a brilliant career. Almost 60 years later, Zeisel returned to the factory and designed the Granit Collection (1983). Though widely exhibited, the set – which features her signature fluid, sensuous curves – wasn’t put into production until 2009. DWR worked closely with Zeisel to ensure that Granit adheres to her exacting standards. “I like the way the very thin, hard edges of the plates change into a soft, inviting bellybutton,” she said. “All the pieces together make a very nice family.” The plates and bowls each feature a dimple in the center, and their matte white finish offers a neutral backdrop for culinary delights. This collection is food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Made in China.
