The PUMA SF77 hit the ground running in the 1970s, blasting through 10k and counting without bells and whistles. It was flat. It was soft. It was enough for even the most elite sprinters. Over the years, its design evolved: more cushioning, better tread, and a rubber toe wrap-up to help prevent tripping. And then, after affording it a few seasons to unwind in our archives, we did what we do and rejiggered the silhouette to meet the bold, bloggable, throwback-heavy specifications of today. We lost its toe wrap-up and, for that matter, its joggability, dropping the upper onto a cheeky striped platform and adding flashy gold accents for a look that's pure sport-meets-style.
