[soundtrack: SHE MOVES IN HER OWN WAY - THE KOOKS.]
at least i have a half-day on thursday?
anyway, there's gunna be a surprise ending in the following story...
and I made this set thinking of which images of Leighton would refer to Cam...pictures of Cam that Alex would daydream about in class. heh. cute.
"No. No. No. No. No...FUCK! NO! Damn, you! You could've caught that! Freaking idiot!"
I blinked my eyes open, and tried to see through the sunlight in my face.
Alex was sitting on the edge of the bed, and his eyes were glued to the TV.
Ah. Baseball game.
I groaned in annoyance in buried my head back in the sheets. I felt Alex look at me, and he said,
"Oh, hey there - good morning." he found his way under the sheets and kissed my face.
I felt myself smiling a bit too much.
"Did I wake you up?"
I rolled my eyes and giggled.
"No, not at all."
He grinned, and kissed me again, and we kissed for awhile (though we did enough kissing last night...ehrm...) but he soon pulled away with a smirk.
"Sorry, honey - my fantasy team's really kicking ass this year."
I huffed, yet smiled, and walked downstairs.
Elle and George were watching a movie.
"I guess Friday's officially Senior skip day, 'huh?" I said with a smile.
Elle laughed, "Dean Rivers is gunna kill you." I nodded, and she finally looked my way, and at the Smiths shirt I was wearing - and Alex's boxers.
"Guess things are alright with you and Alex now?" she said, sarcastically. I blushed.
"I think you got dressed in the wrong pair of clothes on the floor," she added, and I giggled and screamed, "Stop it!", but still blushed and felt very, very, nice.
Although I made Cameron stay home with me, I still had to go to Wagner for a bit to take a class I've been skipping a bit.
Cam gave me a PB&J sandwich and a pout when I left. I smiled and kissed her pursed lips.
"I'll be baaaack," I assured her.
She nodded, smiled, and skipped back into the house to do something with Elle.
I watched her go - happily checking her out.
Then I had to go.
"...and for the assignment," Mr. B said loudly in front of me - making me pay attention to him and not my phone's texts.
Cam was going to cause me to fail college.
"...you are going to have partners. The list is posted on the door. Don't create a mob around the door, though. Dismissed."
I sighed, realizing I had no idea what the hell we had just been assigned.
I was last to the door.
'Alexander Rivera & New Boy'
"Uh...I'm 'New Boy'," a voice said from behind me.
I turned around.
A younger looking guy stood there.
He was new. I've never seen his face around here.
But he looked...familiar.
"Uh, alright," I said, walking out of the room. He followed. "Is that really your name?"
New Boy scoffed.
"Nauh, my name's..."
As if trying to remember.
We were quiet, walking towards the courtyard where food was.
"So uh...Zee. I'm afraid I have no idea what we're supposed to do. I was kind of uh...distracted."
"Well uh, I'm gunna eat at Moe's, you want to join me?"
I still think I've seen him from somewhere.
He went...'away' a few months ago.
And that he studied like mad, 'cause where we went, there was nothing else to do.
So he ended up skipping Senior year.
And was going to go to an Ivy League school like his parents expected, but ended up going to Wagner since he didn't have enough community service hours.
I think I've seen him at Max's.
And he probably went to some rehab place.
At least I hope.
Either way, he's a cool guy.
"Thanks for coming with me," I grinned to Alex as we stepped into Ash's rooftop party, "I mean, you didn't have to..."
"I /wanted/ to," he laughed, "Plus I rented a hotel room for tonight...I couldn't miss that..."
My cheeks went red.
Before we could even look for the host of the party, I felt someone grab my hand softly and pull me towards them.
I looked at Nate in surprise.
"Hey," he said, looking at me...oddly, "Hey." he said again, to Alex.
Alex gave him a stern nod.
He never really liked him.
Or how he just grabbed my hand comfortably.
"I need to tell you something..." Nate said in a low voice. I frowned.
Nate started to say something, but got caught off by Summer and Aidan over by the bar - everyone looked for a second - and Nate left his eyes on Summer for awhile until he turned back to me.
And he opened his mouth, and again, got inturrupted.
And this time, by Elle.
And this time, Alex tugged on my hand.
"I'll talk to you later, Nate." I assured him.
He just sighed.
I never did get to talk to him.
We approached Summer and Ashley.
"Cam!" Ash smiled, and gave me a hug, as well as Summer.
"And...Alex," Ash smiled politely, "Thanks for coming, you two."
"We wouldn't have missed it for the world." I said, almost breathless.
Alex's hand was carressing my thigh.
"Uhm, will you excuse us, girls?" I giggled to them, and then Alex and I escaped, laughing, towards the bar.
And soon towards a hotel room.
We wanted to start early...that's all.
"But I don't get it. Why did the game end early?"
I was carrying an almost-empty bag of candy and Alex was carrying a bag full of baseball equipment.
"Because," he said, amused, "My team was ahead by more than 12 runs after the 5 standard innings."
I cocked an eyebrow at him, confused, and he chuckled.
"Aren't you glad my minor league team won their first game?"
"Yes! And I'm glad they liked the candy I brought them."
"They would've jumped in joy if you came with /vegetables/."
"What is /that/ supposed to mean!"
Alex shook his head, smiling at the floor.
"They love you more than I do," he murmured.
I grabbed his hand.
"Yeah. Yeah. Cool, man! Yeah, across from...yeah, close to Starbucks. Alright, see you soon."
Alex hung up and plopped back down next to me.
"Who was that?" I asked, and put a strawberry in my mouth.
"A new friend of mine. Zee. He's coming over to work on a project."
I nodded. "Zee?"
"I've got to have /something/ to do when you're gone."
"I think I'm going to sneak out...when everyone's asleep..."
"It's a /sleepover/." He put a strawberry in my mouth. I chewed, smiling.
So I looked silly.
"I can't help it." I curled up in his lap.
Alex tucked his head in my hair.
She looked behind me.
We all laughed.
It's like we haven't seen each other in years.
In a circle,
All of A-Listers sat.
Randomly spilling out certain things going on in our lives:
"Alex..." I blushed.
"Aidan's an ass." Summ huffed.
"Brendon's...so..." Auti giggled.
"There's this new guy..." Ashley started.
"I miss Carter..." Chrissy sighed.
"Hey, pass the bottle," Elle yelled.
We all ended up giggling.
No matter what the topic was.
Even when our cellphones buzzed.
Lizzie sent out her invites to the Elle bash.
Only Elle, Ash, and Chrissy were invited out of the A-Listers.
Something inside of me bubbled.
"What the /fuck/?"
I scowled, and looked up.
"You girls aren't actually going to /go/...are you?"
They didn't answer me.
I just blinked.
Then, I laughed.
I threw my cell towards the couch.
"Champagne?" I held up the bottle I brought.
The girls laughed to themselves.
Times like these made me wonder:
Where will we all be next year?
While we sat, watching cartoons and silly movies, and drinking, and joking around...
It seemed impossible that we were going to be graduating from high school in merely months.
I've known these girls since diapers.
I looked around.
"No frowns!" Summ smiled at me, and passed me a shot. We were playing that silly game.
"What were you thinking of?" Elle muttered.
I shrugged, and smiled.
"I love you girls."
I took a shot.
"Agreed!" they yelled.
We all took shots.
When all the girls fell asleep on the floor, I nudged Elle.
"C'mon, let's go."
She sat up.
"I've got a man!"
Elle rolled her eyes, but she was grinning.
"We shall ditch."
We left the girls a huge note, on a huge mirror in Summer's room - in lipstick.
'Love you girls -
We decided to take a midnight drive to Las Vegas! Kisses!
- xoxo, C&E, E&C."
We left kiss marks.
We left laughing.
I love laughing.
I really do.
When I laugh, I want to laugh forever.
Is that possible?
Can you laugh forever?
Is it possible to never frown?
My life contridicts that question.
Elle and I walked in to the Rivera apartment, laughing.
About something ridiculous.
But it was funny at the time.
We were surprised when we heard laughing as well.
Alex and George.
"Zee! Bro," Alex laughed, "I was thinking the same thing."
All three boys laughed.
Elle and I exchanged looks and giggled.
"Hey booooys," I said - happy, and sing-songy - as Elle and I entered the room the guys were in.
My heart stopped.
You know in Harry Potter?
When his scar seems to hurt him?
The small, gray scar on my cheek - I swear - tingled.
And I looked at the guy who was laughing with Alex.
My eyes widened.
- xoxo, Cam.
if you don't remember who zack is, just look at this set for a reminder:
alex wouldn't remember his face, because the only time he saw him he was punching and yelling at him for only a few minutes.
i put in the HP scar thing 'cause i was talking about it with my mom a few moments ago.
i have a HP scar - on my forehead. i swear.
i got it from running into the corner of a wall when i was little. lol.
anyway, i'm going to put the reaction in my next set. or maybe ze amazing emily will do a little snip of it.
EITHER WAY, I'VE GOT SCHOOL TOMORROW SO I'M GOING TO BE A BIT EARLY.
