andrew chuckled as he folded his arms across his chest, still leaning against the counter. he supposed he should have moved and even left because he was just going to scew things up again, but something was stopping him. despite everything, he still loved talking to her. he loved being around her, because she made him feel - well, whole. "yeah, your mom showed me the guest list a couple of weeks ago and it was almost three whole pages. and she wasn't even done with it." he chuckled and shook his, glancing at her. for some reason, the picture of her drinking a beer made him smile. "but look how many people came. they all missed you." he wanted to say "we all missed you", but felt that would be inappropriate.

@g0forth part of her had hoped that maybe andrew would decide it wasn't even worth striking up another conversation with her, but sure enough his thick and heavy accent was the next thing she heard. she glanced over her shoulder to look at him and nodded her head slightly. "yeah, it's great." she replied simply, shutting the door with her hip. "i would've liked a warning before mom invited the entire town, though." she admitted, bringing the beer bottle to her lips to take a sip. while in new york, she had acquired a taste for more, er, classy beverages, like wine and champagne, but she had to admit that alabama girl in her still enjoyed a beer every now and then.

andrew walked into the kitchen and sighed, his eyes on the floor below him as he walked. once he looked up to throw his beer in the trashcan, it was then that he noticed he wasn't alone. "oh," he remarked, catching sight of savannah filling a bottle with wine. he hadn't been expecting her. he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as he threw his bottle away and leaned against the countertop. though he was secretly pleased that he had gotten the chance to see her again about he left, the moment was still full of awkwardness and tension. "so are you, um, enjoying the party?" he cracked a smile, hoping to make things lighter than they currently were. he knew that it was partly his fault that things were tense between them, which was why he was trying to fix it.

@g0forth savannah managed to push all thoughts of andrew out of her head and focus on the people that had come to see her, who were slowly starting to disperse, because apparently nine o'clock was late for this town. she let out a sigh of relief as she made her way back into the kitchen when she got a break, her heels clicking across the tiled floor. she brushed past andrew, opening the fridge and taking a peek inside. she crinkled her nose slightly as she overlooked the contents. beer definitely wasn't her thing, but you could say she definitely needed a drink. she reached inside, grabbing one of the glass bottles and popping it open.

ahaha that's okay, i totally understand! c: - - andrew had stayed around for a little, talking with her parents and their own friends, his eyes occasionally wandering over to where savannah was. he just couldn't keep his eyes off of her, no matter how angry he was with her. she was just so illuminating. after thirty minutes of just standing around and talking to people he didn't really know about things he didn't really care about, he realized that there was no point in him sticking around anymore. he was just waiting to talk to her again, he realized, and that wasn't going to happen. not after the way he had acted. he sighed and headed towards the kitchen where he would throw his empty beer bottle away and then leave the party.

@g0forth omg sorry i get lazy during school and i forget about rps but it's christmas break now yaaay c: - - - in all honesty, his bitterness hurt. she knew it was her own fault for leaving in the first place, and even thinking that things could go back to friendship after what had happened, but she still resented him for the way he was acting towards her, and the fact that it affected her so much worried her. she thought her feelings for him had subsided -- she was engaged, after all, yet somehow there were still feelings there that she held for him. she quickly emerged into the crowd, trying not to think too much about andrew as she made conversation with her family.

"right. how could i forget?" andrew nearly spat out the words, feeling hurt that she wanted to be somewhere that wasn't near him. but that was just him being childish. he sighed and took another chug of his beer. "right." he muttered gently at in response, nodding his head. he wanted to apologize because she seemed visibly upset and he hated seeing her upset, even now, but andrew had too much pride for that. he opened his mouth to apologize to her, but he had already gone. he let out a heavy sigh and watched as she walked over to her family and friends, no doubt wanting to escape from his bitterness. and he really couldn't blame her. when savannah had first left, something in andrew changed.

@g0forth savannah nodded her head, her dark brown locks falling in her face though she quickly pushed them back out. she couldn't deny that she was offended, and a little bit hurt by the bitterness in his voice. she only hoped it didn't show on her expression though. "i'm where i want to be." she replied simply, pursing her pink tinted lips. she glanced around, the picture of her fiance's face suddenly entering her mind. she knew very well that if she spent enough time with andrew, she wouldn't be able to help but falling for him again. "well, i just wanted to thank you for coming." she said quickly, offering him a polite smile before she snuck back into the living room where family and friends were chattering excitedly.

of course andrew knew what savannah wanted to do with her life. it was the part of the reason why they had broken up. she had wanted to become some famous interior designer in new york, while andrew was perfectly content with staying in their old town. but he hadn't thought that she had actually become what she wanted. he should have guessed, though, because when she set her mind to something, she usually got it done. still, the thought of her living the dream life while he was back here made something within him ache. "right, so what, do you work with those fancy penthouses and pricey hotels or something?" there was a bitterness in his tone and he took another sip of his beer, trying to hide it.

@g0forth after years of dating him, savannah could read andrew like an open book. or she thought she would still be able to. but somehow, things were different now. and she guessed that was from their years of separation. as he changed the subject she realized that she possibly could have just been putting salt in and open wound, so she chose not to mention how much she missed him again. she pursed her lips together, nodding her head slightly. "i'm an interior designer, remember?" she raised a brow at him. the two had done a lot of arguing over what she was planning on doing with her life, so somehow it came as a surprise to her that he didn't remember.

andrew felt his heart clench at her words. she had missed him. for some reason, that was hard for him to picture. how could she possibly miss him when she was off doing bigger and better things in new york city? and besides, he wasn't going to do this to himself. he wasn't going to put himself through the heartbreak again; he deserved better than that. so he offered her a small, genuine smile and raised an eyebrow. "i doubt that. i'm sure new york is keeping you busy. what exactly is it that you do over there, again?" he was obviously trying to change the subject, because he knew if that if he admitted that he had missed her like hell, then all would be lost for him. she wasn't his anymore and maybe it was best if it stayed that way. scratch that, it was / definitely / better that way.

@g0forth no worries c; --- somehow, being in alabama again and hearing all the familiar accents was comforting to her. she remembered the confusion she felt when people gave her looks in new york for saying y'all, and eventually her strong accent had faded, but it was still noticeable. just not as vivid as it once was, or like andrew's was. savannah already felt a bit awkward, but upon seeing the familiar smirk on his face she felt a bit better about herself. he wasn't making it awkward, or bringing up the past, so she figured maybe they could forget about it and be decent to each other. "mhm, i guess it is." she replied, leaning back against the counter top as she looked over at the all too familiar boy. he even / smelled / the same, which was a good thing. "i missed you, andy." she admitted.

totally just realized i never put his name... awks. sorry. cx - - though andrew had known that she was just as beautiful as she had been back in high school - if not /more attractive - he hadn't been prepared for how she looked up close. because up close? she was stunning. he could see all the little blemishes that made her who she was and to him, all the more beautiful. he shifted through his awkward and unnerving feelings and stood up slightly, though he remained leaning against the doorframe. "hi there," he said, his still-hick accent coming through. he hadn't left their small town and still had his charming country twang. "long time no see," he said simply. andrew's plan of attack was to just pretend like they were old friends - maybe even acquaintances - and ignore any feelings he may have had in the past. because that's what it was. the past. and besides, his mother had told her that she was engaged to some rich and famous guy, so what would she ever want to do with him? the thought made his heartache slightly, not that she could ever tell with his confident smirk. "new york seems to be treating you well." there was a hint of sarcasm in his tone and he hid his laugh with a sip of beer.

@g0forth savannah expressed her excitement that everyone came, even though inwardly she wished she had had a bit of time to relax, and she / definitely / wished someone would have warned her about her ex coming. she didn't even know why he was there, aside from the fact that her parents had always been pretty much in love with him. they ended badly, and she was sure it was still an open wound, barely healing for her. she just chose to ignore it, rather than try to fix it. she went around the room, chatting with her old school friends and her family, sure to keep her engagement ring tucked into the pocket of her blazer. that wasn't news that needed to come out at that moment. finally, she had avoided it for long enough, and slowly made her way over to / him /. "hey, stranger," she said, offering him a gentle smile as she raked her fingers through her long, brunette hair. he was the same, almost exactly, except he looked older and she wouldn't deny-- a lot more attractive. back in high school he was the guy all the girls swooned over, and she was lucky enough to get him as a boyfriend for the entirety of four years of school.

when savannah's mom had asked him to come to savannah's surprise welcome home party, he had been hesitant. he hadn't seen the girl since high school and they hadn't exactly left things on good terms. he had been so in love with her, so ready to marry her and run away with her, and she had just left him for bigger and better things. and of course, not wanting to hold her back, he let her go. he had tried to move on as much as possible, and he had done a pretty good job of it, but there was still a part of him that longed to see her again after all these years. it was that small part of him that agreed to go. so here he was, sipping on a beer, leaning against the wall of her old kitchen, watching as she came into the room. she seemed to light it up, which was something that wouldn't change for her, despite what changes she went through. which, she had gone through a lot. she looked like such a city girl, and the thought made him wince in disgust. still, even though she had changed too much for his liking, she still looked like the same girl he feel in love with and was beautiful as ever. he let her make her rounds, figuring she would come to him if she wanted to talk.
