☆ FRIDAY, MAY 25TH
if partying is your thing then get ready for a quick trip to the fabulous new york city to enjoy a night at lux nightclub. it's time to show those new yorkers how hampton girls party. look and act your best, because this place is often frequented by celebrities (and paparazzi, naturally). wouldn't want anyone getting ahold of some scandalous secrets about you, right?
“So this is where you live,” Noah said as he entered Rita’s NYC apartment. It was decked out in the most luxurious items imaginable. It was like nothing he had ever seen before.
“Yeah, this is it,” Rita said throwing on her shoes. The Hamptons gang came up to the City for the night to go out on the town and Noah joined them.
“I’m out of here,” Pippa said kissing Rita on the cheek, “You two kids of fun.” Just before Pippa walked out the door she turned around and with a smile added, “Rita, you know David’s going to be there.”
“Who’s David?” Noah asked pulling out a cigarette.
“Just a friend from high school,” Rita said.
“Yeah a friend you like to lead on. The poor thing is always fawning over her and she doesn’t have the decency to cut him loose,” Pippa said shaking her head.
Noah raised his eyebrows and turned to a smirking Rita. “That’s kinda harsh,” Noah said blowing smoke out of his mouth.
“Oh it’s nothing,” Rita said, “He knows nothing will ever happen between us.”
“Yeah, right,” Pippa snickered, “Well, I’m off, see you two later.”
Nightclubs weren’t necessarily Rita’s favorite scene. They were filled with idiots who knew nothing about the real world. She always preferred a Gatsby party or an Upper East Side, exclusive, party to a nightclub. but once and a while she did venture out to a nightclub and tonight was one of those nights. The music was so loud it was pounding her heart against her chest and people were sweaty and gross. As she entered the club she looked around with disgust at everyone there. She recognized a few faces but she didn’t want to talk to anyone she knew, in fact, she didn’t want to talk at all. Without Noah, she made her way across the club and found herself a drink and a seat. Not before long, however, a familiar face approached her.
“Hey, Rita,” David said with a grin, “It’s good to see you.”
“David,” Rita said with a calm smile, “What a surprise. How are you?”
“Fine thanks, and you?” he said with a goofy smile.
“Excellent!” Rita exclaimed. “Come, sit with me,” she said patting the seat next to her.
“I thought you were in the Hamptons this time of year,” David said trying to act nonchalant. He knew her every move and Rita knew that.
“We just came up for the night,” Rita said motioning to the rest of the club which, for the most part, was full of her Hampton acquaintances.
“Who’s your friend?” David asked pointing to Noah and not trying to seem obvious.
“He’s someone I know from the Hamptons,” Rita said smirking.
“He doesn’t look like the typical Hamptons material,” David said smugly.
“He’s not,” Rita said with a satisfied grin.
Noah had a drink in hand and was talking to some girl. Rita didn’t recognize her so that probably meant she was some NYC wh-r-. Rita shifted in her seat uncomfortably and tried to shrug whatever was bothering her away. She wasn’t committed to Noah; they just had fun together whenever she was in the Hamptons. that was all. Before Rita could dwell anymore on the situation a figure popped out of nowhere.
“Rita!” a blonde said, “I haven’t seen you in ages!”
“Hey, Karlie,” Rita said kissing the girl on her cheek, “Having fun?”
“I just got here,” Karlie said with a shrug, her perk immediately vanishing.
Rita nodded and sipped her drink. For a moment there was silence but Rita finally broke it. “Karlie, this is David, my friend from high school. David this is Karlie, we know each other from the Hamptons.”
“Nice to meet you,” David said less than enthusiastically. He wanted to be alone with Rita and this Karlie girl was getting in his way.
“So,” Karlie said sitting across from the two, “I see you brought Noah with you. Are things getting serious?”
Rita looked at Karlie mortified. Everyone knew that she wasn’t one to ‘get serious’ even with Noah. “Karlie, you’ve got to be joking,” Rita said with a scoff, “You know Noah and I only like to have fun, no strings attached.”
Karlie shrugged and took a sip of her drink. “That’s not what it looks like to me,” she said truly not trying to offend Rita.
Rita’s face flushed and then she stood up. “If you’ll excuse me I should go,” Rita said smoothing out her dress, “Nice to see you both.”
She left Karlie and David to their own devices. Were people really saying that about her and Noah? Was Rita losing her reputation? The reputation she had worked so hard to obtain and maintain. Something had to be done about it. She just didn’t know what.
@my-mind-is-a-warrior I know you already have a story up but I still wanted to include you. You definitely don't have to add this part to your set. Hope you're character's portrayed okay!
