So I'm from Cape Town, South Africa and I absolutely LOVE my country. It is, however, extremely difficult to sum it up in only one set and I tried to capture a bit of it.

Most people know that we are called the Rainbow Nation and I think its very appropriate, not only because of the various different cultures of people in our country, but also how different each part of the country looks. From beautiful beaches, to dry arid farmlands, Natal's more tropical wildcoast, to the amazingly bushveld with its wildlife.
Not to mention Cape Town's exciting city with all the reminders of the historical events that shaped it...

And then just outside the city, there is the squatter camps - this has also become a huge part of what our country is. I actually think that the bright colours and the imperfect structures are beautiful and tells a story about our culture in a way.

We've had our dark history and turbulent times are not exactly a thing of the past, but one thing that everyone has in common is our love for food - here I have something called Potjiekos - a type of stew that gets made on the fire in a black cast-iron pot (so yum!).

We have some celebrities that do us proud in various areas, like Charlize Theron, Candice Swanepoel and Carmen Solomons, etc. But everyone's most beloved person is Nelson Mandela - uTata (father) of South Africa.

My advice to people that plan on visiting here, is to make sure its not just a quick visit, because there really is so much to do and see.
