I got Doojoon! Haha. I don't know why but I just had a strong feeling that I was going to get him. xD Anyway, I felt bad for missing some challenges so I tried writing a story this time. I hope it's decent!
"I'll take the 3rd one." I pointed to one of the necklaces presented in front of me. It was simple, cute, and just my style.
"Your date will be at the town park, you've got 5 minutes." The camp staff member said before leaving with the remaining 3 black boxes.
"5 minutes???" My eyes widened in horror. There was no way I could get pretty in that short amount of time.
"Oh." The staff member suddenly stuck his head out from the door. He reminded me to "bring sneakers."
Well if it's that kind of date then there's no use in trying to get fancy… I easily grabbed some sneakers and headed out the door while slightly struggling to clasp the necklace around my neck.
I hurried to the meeting spot -an old style cafeteria- not because I was being rushed but, because I was genuinely excited. Who could be my date? Kangjun? Chunji? Or..
Doojoon. It was most certainly Doojoon.
"STOP." Doojoon saw me turning around to escape. It's not that I didn't like Doojoon, it's just that I've never been able to get comfortable with the guy. The cooking challenge with him was already torture enough on me. At this point I couldn't tell if it was really fate or if the producers really had a kick out of our awkward relationship.
I slumped in the chair and stared at Doojoon, who was looking through the menu with a silly smile on his face. He was just loving this.
"I see you've got good taste in jewelry." Doojoon smirked.
"Yeah.. yeah.." I tugged on my necklace hoping that it had some magic power to teleport me back to camp.
We ordered our food and ate like how you would imagine an awkward couple to be like- small talk and nervous smiles. Afterwards Doojoon took me to the park.
"Ahh.. so that's what the sneakers are for. We're playing soccer aren't we?" I asked knowing full well of Doojoon's love of soccer from the cooking challenge.
"Bingo!" He took a soccer ball out of his bag.
"We'll just play for fun, so we won't need to keep score." He said as I laced up my sneakers. "Sound good to you?"
"Yup." I began walking to the field. "Sounds good." At least Doojoon didn't want to make me look bad. We all know he would destroy me in an actual soccer match.
We started the first round. The air felt great, I felt really energetic from the food, and was overall in a surprisingly good mood. I was in such a mood that I managed to make my first goal. But.. that was only because Doojoon never tried stealing the ball from me.
"Doojoon, just because we're the 'awkward couple' doesn't mean you have to go easy on me!" I called out to him. "Let's play some real SOCCER!" I stuck my tongue out provokingly.
And with that Doojoon did. Or.. at least tried harder…. because the next thing you know it I made another goal.
"WHAT IS THAT? TWO POINTS???" I stuck 2 fingers in the air.
"YA! We agreed no points!!" Doojoon ran back to the center kicking the ball with him.
"I don't remember that." I lied. As we faced each other again I saw Doojoon give me a full on 'judging you' glare. "Merong!" I stuck my tongue at him before kicking the ball. But this time, Doojoon was done playing around. He went full on BEAST mode and struck his first goal before I even had a chance to turn around.
"You wanna play points? We can play points." Doojoon's smile was a frightening one. In moments Doojoon had already made his second goal.
"We're already tied and you haven't even touched me!" Doojoon did some fancy soccer trick with his feet to show off before running back to me. "MERONG!~~" He stuck out his tongue as payback.
"YA! WE SAID NO POINTS!" I barked back.
"YA?! YA! Who taught you to talk like that to your elders!" Doojoon scolded my informal language. Doojoon was the closest to me than he has ever been. And I mean both metaphorically and literally. He was so close I could feel him breathing heavily. And at that moment I backed up and started laughing.
"What? Why are you laughing?" Doojoon looked confused.
"Nothing." I tried to stop smiling. "It's nothing."
