Afraid of what the day would bring, I snuggled under my covers for a few more minutes before slipping out of bed and laguhing at my roomate, Edda who danced around in her pretty pink dress around the dorm room.
"Dance with me, Plum!" She demanded as she touched my hand, and I followed her lead.
We both sat, staring relentlessly out the window that stretched from wall to ceiling, creating a view that seemed endless.
"Its beautiful here." She nodded, she smiled over at me and I fluttered my eyes and laughed.
"It is." I nodded.
"Where you from?"
"New York." I sighed as I slipped on my clothes.
"Dancer?"
"Something like that... I love to dance, but I'm more of a poet. A writer."
"Poetry. Ahh." She sighed, throwing her head back and staring out into the horizon.
"You're a dancer." I nodded, looking at her feet.
"I am." She smiled. "Since I was just a little girl. Ballet is my life."
"I can tell just by your aura that you're a beautiful dancer."
"I can tell by your aura that you're a beautiful writer." She smiled at me, twisting a strand of my hair in her fingers.
"What are you afraid of..?" I asked her quietly.
"I have a hatred for blood." She giggled. "I think it's trying to kill me. I'll near faint in the sight of it. Spiders are a given... I hope to never see one anywhere near me. And, I don't like to talk in front of audiences... I panic."
"At least you're not completley insane." I laughed, looking down at my necklace.
"What about you?"
"I'm afraid of anything I can't touch.. and I'm afraid of graves, which makes me quite afraid of death... and I absolutely hate the idea of pain... yet, I seem to feel it constantly." I shrugged, and smiled at her intently listening face.
"So basically, you're trapped." She nodded.
"Something like that." I picked up my knee highs, putting them on before my boots.
"We'll be great friends." She nodded as she picked up her back and headed towards the door. "You coming?" She smiled.
"Yeah." I nodded, picking up my bag and rushing behind her.
