Continuing my adventures in England:
I went for a walk along Lake District which was amazing, it may have taken four hours but the view was worth it. I enjoyed visiting this huge cave too, it was my first time in a cave and it was so cool! The dampness and chill in the cave enveloped me like a blanket. I was in sheer amazement the whole time. (Cough what a typical geography student I am)
I visited the national coal mining museum and that was quite an experience. The museum was underground and literally in the old pit workings. The physical ill difficulties and poverty of the past was stark and the injustice of the times then did struck a chord in me. Afterwards I went to York, which feels old and gothic to me! It is dubbed the most haunted city in Europe and the buildings are all so intricately designed. I loved it there. My friends and I went for this ghost trail and it was interesting to hear the different ghost stories! The guide was the most precious old man ever and I loved his tales. He was all dressed up with his cane and top hat, looking like a butler or a gothic old man. Definitely recommend anyone who goes to York to go for this ghost trail. (Perhaps not in summer because at 8pm it was still pretty bright and the creepy atmosphere was a bit off)
Stratford Upon Avon was cute, there were many reenactments of Shakespeare and they were all so entertaining. Being in England, I actually learnt a lot about the origins of folk lore and idioms, my brain was in happy mode. (Stuff like sleep tight, saved by the bell etc.)
Until the next set! I will continue part 3 of Pat in England :)
