THURSDAY: What a busy week you've had. Why not treat yourselves to a spa? But instead of a glitzy super expensive place, you'll be having a mid-week sleepover. You provide the candles, manicures and pedicures.
So the shopping trip didn't lift my moods. A spa with my friends surely would, right? I hoped. As I was getting ready for the mini "spa"-rty, I heard a knock on the door. It couldn't be Kristin, she skips the knocking and likes to barge right in. It had to be someone else.
I answered and door and shrieked with shock and joy. It was Lucca! Lately, we'd been hanging out and she seemed to be friend material. So far, only Bree and Portia seemed to be good friends and they were too outgoing for me. Not that I didn't love them, I just felt very out of the loop around them.
"Hey," she came in and sat on a comfy chair. I closed the door. She looked around the room and her eyes widened. "Whoa, this is like the cleanest room I've ever been in!"
I laughed out loud and then went back to getting ready. "Thank you?" I said in a questiony tone.
She nodded. "Yeah! My roommate is so messy!"
"Well I'm kind of a perfectionist. And I think I might have OCD. So that explains it." I said and then turned around to face her. "So," I said, with my elbows resting on my bare knees and propping my head up with my hands. "What brings you here?"
She fixed her gaze back to me. "Oh, I just need to vent!"
"About?" I asked, eagerly.
She took a deep breath. "Kristin." she finally said.
"Oh, tell me about her. She's pure evil."
"I know, but you won't believe what she did to me!"
"What? It can't be worse than what happened at Pinkberry last week." I began racking my brain, thinking of all the cruelties that Kristin had done to me. It seemed as if the list in my head was extremely long, even though I'd only been rooming with her for a month.
Lucca's face looked washed out, it was almost whiter than mine. "No, it wasn't that bad. She's just always throwing these rude comments at me. I know other girls here are pretty mean too, but she's the superlative."
I nodded, "I know, I know. Well did I tell you that she stole my purse?"
"Now she's a thief?!" Lucca cried out, shaking her head.
I giggled. "No, no, not like that!" Then I went into detail about the day we went shopping and how she used reverse psychology on me about a certain purse and then she ended up buying it anyway. When I had tried to buy the purse, I found out it was a limited edition and there was no other one like it.
At the end of my little story, Lucca's chin was practically on the floor. "The nerve!" she said in disgust. After a few moment she said, "We've got to do something about her."
Before I could respond, the door flew wide open. None other than Kristin herself. Now, this wasn't a surprising situation since this /was/ Kristin's room too, but Lucca and I were definitely scared. Had she been listening to us the whole time? Did we just get ourselves in more trouble?
Kristin stood picturesquely by her bed after she had slammed the door shut. She looked at us in bewilderment.
Lucca didn't say a word. I followed suit.
The dark brown-haired girl went on about her business as if we weren't even there. I shot Lucca a look that read "Let's-get-out-of-here". And right then, we bolted.
Outside of my room and as far away as possible from Kristin's sharp ears, Lucca and I burst out laughing.
"That was close," I muttered after finally catching my breath.
