Tet is coming!
Every where Vietnamese are busy preparing for Tet, the Lunar New Year. It is fast approaching, the people who live and work in Ha Noi are eagerly returning to their hometowns to enjoy Tet with their families. Currently, they have one hope: to have enough time to earn money for their Tet expenses.
Tet is like no other events in the year - there is a great variety of Vietnamese food that is not available elsewhere or else-when such as Banh Chung, Boiled Chicken, Pickled Onions. If you are invited to a Vietnamese family, that would be the ideal case. Otherwise, a visit to Cho Tet - special wet markets selling New Year stuffs, will surely be an amazing experience, whether you are in a big city or rural mountain province.
The Tet of the New Year is, above all, a fete of the family. This is an opportunity for the household genies to meet, those who have helped during the year, namely the Craft Creator, the Land Genie and the Kitchen God. As the legend goes, each year on December 23 of the lunar calendar, the Kitchen God takes a ride on a carp to the Heavenly Palace to make a report on the affairs of the household on earth and then returns on December 30 to welcome the New Spring.
I've been at home to help my mother to tidy the house with my daddy meanwhile my mom busy with her restaurant... Last night I went to super market with my neighbors to go shopping. She bought many things to prepare for Tet such as vegetables,fruits,pork,etc..The market was over crowded that I think I could be lost. This morning I got up early and cleaned the windows. All most of my neighbors have prepared fully for Tet. It's said that everyone is really excited, they're playing card together. The children sing the new year song. In addition I extremely like lucky money at Tet. Maybe it's not cost but it's meaningful. I feel happy when I receive red envelopes from others and give them some wishes in the new year.
I'm not sure that i can be here tomorrow so Happy Lunar new year to all my lovely friends
