Coffee&Cakes (summer edition)
Rain-- a perfect excuse to stay inside, right? Well.. yeah.. but I wasn’t going to. I wanted to see Woohyun again. I even scared my parents when they saw me running out the door with my umbrella.
I wasn’t sure where to find Woohyun but I just assumed he would be at Paradise Cafe. The place was more full than last time. (Probably because of the pouring rain.) There was no sign of Woohyun though... But at least I was able to find an empty table.
“Eun!” Sunggyu sat down across from me while keeping something hidden under the table.
“Yes?” I gave him a questionable look.
“I got you something.” Sunggyu had a big grin on his face. It was funny seeing Sunggyu so happy like this.
“What is it?”
“Uh...” I stared at him blankly. “What?”
“Su-su-suplehh..” Sunggyu struggled before he finally got to the point. “This! I got you a this!” He pulled out the small pastry from under the table.
“OH!” My eyes lit up. “A chocolate souffle!?” I nearly squealed. It looked so delicious! “Did you make this yourself?”
“Yes! Well, no.. Geumhee did. But I told her to because I know you like French things.”
“Wow. Thank you.” I couldn’t stop smiling. “How did you even know that?”
“Yesterday when you left your computer. I-”
“YOU SNOOPED THROUGH MY STUFF?!” I raised my voice.
“No no no! Your computer was already open and I just saw your desktop picture of Paris!” Sunggyu was waving his hands around, trying to calm me down.
“Okay I forgive you.” I grabbed the small fork on the plate. He brought me this souffle after all...
“So, have you ever been to Paris?”
“No.” I said coldly. I ended up telling Sunggyu how I ended up coming here; mistaking ‘Paris’ for ‘Paradise’.
“Aww, poor Eun.” He managed to say after laughing at my pathetic, gullible self.
“Yeah, thanks for bring me this souffle to remind me of my crushed dreams...” I still felt like a champion after finishing the souffle though. It was incredible.
“Even if you can’t have fun in Paris... there is still many things you can enjoy in Paradise...” Sunggyu began to say.
“Like what?” I asked.
“Well, tomorrow there’s a bonfire and I was wondering if maybe you wanted to-”
“EUN! OH MY EUN!” A familiar scream suddenly filled the air.
Poor Woohyun was all soaked from the rain. He still managed to scurry over in my direction panting like a wet puppy.
“It’s raining!” He told me.
“Yes, it is!” I laughed at his obvious observation.
“Ya.. why did you have to come right now?” Sunggyu moaned.
“Eun...” Woohyun paused to catch his breath. “I need to ask you something. It’s very important!” He then got down on one knee.
“What the hell?!” Sunggyu managed to exclaim what I and everyone else in the cafe was probably thinking.
“Watch out!” A young employee managed to yell from behind the counter. “I think this guy’s proposing!”
I covered my face and felt like dying from all this embarrassment. He BETTER NOT be proposing!
“Dearest Eun. Will you...” He paused just to enjoy this crazy moment of tension. He was smiling so hard I wanted to die! “Will you come to the bonfire with me?”
“Bonfire?” I laughed off the stress that was building in my head. “You want me to go to a bonfire with you?”
“Yes! Tomorrow night!” Woohyun put his other knee on the ground, “I need you there.”
“Ha!” Sunggyu interjected. “Don’t worry Eun. If you say ‘no’ he will find someone else. I’m sure of it! Woohyun takes rejection very well!”
“Hyuuung.” Woohyun whined. “I’m on my knees for her.”
“Fine, I’ll go! I’ll go!” I couldn’t bear to see Woohyun’s pouty face. “Please just stand up. You’re really embarrassing.”
Woohyun immediately sprung off the ground and pulled me out of my seat to hug me. “Thank you, Eun.”
“No problem..” I felt a bit awkward that he was hugging me so tightly. And let’s not forget he was still kind of drenched from the rain.
“Well.. I should get going.” I peeled myself off of Woohyun. “Thank you for the souffle Sunggyu. And thank Geumhee for making it!”
“S-souffle? What is she talking about, Hyung?” Woohyun asked Sunggyu.
Sunggyu simply ignored him and waved goodbye to me.
“Eun! Let me walk you home!” Woohyun rushed in front of me. “I don’t want you to get wet from the rain so here.” Woohyun started pulling his shirt up. “You’ll need this more than me.”
“Woah! Stop!” As I attempted to stop Woohyun taking his shirt off I managed to brush my hand across his cold abs. Oh god.
“Oooh.” Woohyun giggled. “You like?”
“Ahh..” I nervously scrambled to open my umbrella. “I have to go!” I ran out of the cafe with a face so hot, not even the rain could cool down.
