SOUNDTRACK: echoes - the rapture
i shall have london stories up this week.
but this is just a short-ish story that i wanted to write for the day after the gig :3
... yes. i know i'm behind.
but london will be great, i just know it!
now on to the story!
Drumming was echoing through the apartment, shaking me out of my sleep. My eyes flickered open, taking in my surroundings.
The curtains were closed although faint sunlight was seeping through. Clothes were covering the floor, making it hard to see the ground. I sat up, realizing this was not actually my room. As much as it felt like mine, there was someone lying next to me. He was not there usually. I'm sure of that.
I lay down and rolled over to see Mark lying next to me, his eyes closed. I smiled faintly, my cheeks warming up. I lay there, watching him sleep. His bare chest rose up and down evenly. His skin looked so soft, so prefect.
But as I looked at his arms, I noticed red marks. They looked peculiarly like finger shapes. I slowly stretched my arm out and lined my hand up to the marks. I sucked in a gasp.
I did that; they matched my hand perfectly.
My heart was racing. Thoughts were rushing through my mind. So many at once I felt nauseous. I pulled my hand away, holding it close to my chest. Did ... did we do something last night? Well of course, I thought to myself. Why else would he have bruises the same shape and size as my hands?
I stared up at the ceiling, my heart pounding in my chest. The bed moved as Mark rolled.
"G'morning love," He tiredly said, although he sounded quite gleeful.
"Hey," I said back, rolling to look at him. He did the same, a small grin on his face.
I studied his face; looking at his eyes, his nose, his lips. Oh his lips, his lips, his lips.
Mark chuckled quietly. "What is it?"
"N-Nothing." I faked a smile.
He stayed silent, studying me now. Taking in my body language. I hugged my arms close to me, my legs brought up to my chest. Our heads were lying on the same pillow, making our faces - and lips - so god damn close. Tingles went through my body.
The drumming came through the walls again. I looked away, smiling to the ceiling.
"That's Jimmy isn't it?" I chuckled.
Mark chuckled too, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me close. "Yeah, of course. He's kind of the alarm clock around here."
I hid my face in his chest, my legs wrapping around his under the sheets, a grin on my face.
"You're amazing, you know that right?" Mark whispered in my ear, making me squirm as his breath tickled my neck.
"So are you," I kissed his cheek.
Mark sat up a little, leaning on his elbow, and looked at me intently. I felt a little exposed but Mark's soft eyes warmed me from the inside out.
I smiled, sitting up with him.
He had a small smile playing on his lips as he lent in close to me. His eyes moved from my eyes towards my lips. My lips opened slightly, knowing what was coming. And even though I was hoping for it and expecting it, my heart pounded right out of my chest.
I smiled as we kissed. I couldn't help it. Mark smiled too. I wrapped my arms around his neck, sitting up further.
There was a knock at the door and we both froze. The person didn't wait for Mark to say don't come in; the door opened and George stuck his head in the doorway.
When he noticed Mark had company, he pulled back a little. But being the abnoxious guy that he is, he stood in the doorway, a wild grin on his face.
"Well the vibe from this room in just wonderful, I must say." He chuckled.
Mark stuck his arm out, his hand outstretched. "Don't you dare say a word to the guys. Not yet."
I shrunk down into the bed covers, my face burning with the power of a thousand suns. I bet Thorn had stayed over too. Oh god.
"Please George?" I mumbled half-heartedly from under the covers. He looked between the two of us, a smirk on his face. Mark and I looked at each other, a worried expression on both of our faces. But what George said surprised us both.
"Fine. You're guys are my secret and my lips are sealed. Have fun you guys." He popped an eyebrow before closing the door.
Mark and I sighed in relief and sunk down under the covers again, our arms wrapped around each other. It was like if we didn't hold each other the world would implode this very second.
I wasn't going to let go any time soon.
