monday september 3;

I walked into what used to be my favorite candy shop and immediately felt the memories rushing back. It was now Bridget Bordell's boutique and today was the store opening.

I saw Val and Elle and immediately rusher towards them.

"Hey girls!" I called to the two as we all met up.

"Hey Hazel! Isn't this place great?" Val exclaimed.

"Yeah it is! I love the clothes!" I looked at an army green vest with studs on the shoulders, but frowned when I saw the price. "Okay, I can't afford these. But I'm still going to try it on." I joked with my friends as we all walked to the dressing room.

After quite a while of trying on, I decided to buy the vest anyways. I had a friends and family discount and it was nice to splurge once and a while.

I parted from the girls as I left the store and was on my way home (I had left my car at the dealership and had walked to the store which was only ten minutes away) I heard my name.

"Hazel?" I turned around and saw Elliot.

"Hey Elliot! How are you?"

"I'm good. I've been meaning to call, but I've been super busy with work. Do you want to go grab coffee? There's a Starbucks right around the corner."

"Sure." I smiled as we walked to my favorite coffee shop.

We talked for quite some time before we were interrupted by my phone. It was Val calling.

"Hazel? You left your wallet here at the store. Do you want to come get it?" she asked.

"Oh my god. Yeah I'll come right away." I hung up the phone and stood up.

"I'm really sorry, I have to go." I apologized to Elliot as he stood up as well.

"Oh. Well we should do this again!" he kissed my cheek as I waved goodbye and left.

I returned to the store and retrieved my wallet from Val.

"Thank you so much!" I hugged her. I was about to leave the store when she called me back.

"Where are you going?" she asked.

"Home. I don't have my car so I have to walk and I don't want it to get too dark."

"I'll drive you home! Just stay for a bit!" she begged.

Two hours later it was already nine pm and Val was extremely drunk.

"I think I'll just walk home. Do you have a ride?" I asked Val and she nodded.

I turned around and was heading for the door when Ricky appeared.

"Hey! A pretty lady like you shouldn't walk home when it's this dark! I'll drive you home." he said, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

"No Ricky, it's fine."

"Come on, I insist." he gave me that look that I always fell for and I couldn't resist.

We arrived to my house and Ricky walked me to the door.

"Can I come in?" he asked.

"I don't think that's a good idea." I protested.

"Please, I just want to talk."

I let him in and we made our way to the couch.

"Do you want anything to drink?" I asked him.

"No I'm fine." I sat down beside him on the couch.

"Hazel," he started, "I'm really sorry about what happened back in high school. It was a mistake. Amanda was a mistake."

I started to talk but he stopped me by pressing his lips against mine.

"Ricky -" he kept kissing me and leaned over top of me on the couch. He pulled his shirt off along with mine.

It was just how I remembered it. Not bad, but I used to think it was special. Now it was just normal. He wasn't Elliot and he sure as hell wasn't Andrew.

Ricky began tugging at my jeans but I pushed him off. "Ricky stop."

He kept going. "Ricky" I pushed him further away.

"What?" he snapped. "I thought you liked this." he whined and leaned in for another kiss.

"Ricky stop! I'm pregnant!" I shouted without realizing what I had actually just said.

What. The. Hell. Had. I. Just. Done.
