Here are some basic fashion tips and tricks you'll need to know when it comes to putting together an outfit or shopping for one!♥
O1♥: Show Skin Strategically
You want to show some skin, but you still want there to be some mystery right? Choose one- and only one—body part and show it off. If it's your cleavage, don't show your legs. If it's your legs, stay covered on top.
O2♥: It's OK to Buy Doubles!
If you find something in a really flattering fit, go ahead and buy doubles. Maybe in different colours? When it works, why not?
O3♥: Make Sure You Edit Your Wardrobe
Every year or so, go through your closet and make a pile of clothes that you no longer wear, don't fit anymore, or simply no longer go along with your style. Pack them into a bag and give them away to Goodwill, or if it's hardly worn you can aways give it to a friend that you know could make use of it. You'll have much more free space for new clothes that I promise you won't miss the old ones!
O4♥: Go for the Trendy Accessories
When a new trend comes out, don't spend a fortune updating you're wardrobe. Just pick up some trendy accessories! Jewelry, bags, belts, hats are all much less expensive, and you won't feel so bad when the trend is out next season.
O5♥: Only Buy a Bargain if You Love It!
Sure it may only be $10, but that adds up after a while. It's much better to invest in a good quality piece that you'll wear a lot, rather then to buy something simply because it's on sale. Try to only buy it if you would've paid full price for it. Moral is- only buy it if you love it.
O6♥: Pair Loose With Tight
Very few people can pull off the head-to-toe baggy look. So the rule of thumb is if you're going to wear an oversized/baggy piece, always make sure to add something structured and tight fitting into the equation.
O7♥: Don't be Afraid to Mix Prints!
You can totally mix prints, just keep a few things in mind:
* Choose patterns that share a neutral background, like brown, black, white, or grey.
* Make sure patterns have at least a few colors in common: if you're mixing a navy stripe skirt, floral print skirt, make sure a similar blue is part of the floral print- this is super important if the two items don't share a neutral background.
*Mix up the scale of the prints: tiny polka dots with big oversized stripes for example!
*Don't go overboard- only two pieces in one outfit should have a pattern. There should always be at least one other element (a cardi, tights, a belt, or skirt) that's completely plain.
That sure took a long time to type. Really hopes this helps♥
