In conceiving of Cortina, designer Pablo Pardo sought to create a light that would assert its presence but seamlessly complement a variety of surroundings. What he built is a stoic, sculptural luminaire that emits a seductive light through its transparent and diffused surfaces. Cortina’s monolithic form factor creates a noble light that mimics its architectural surroundings. Fluidly dimmable, the piece is comprised of a clear acrylic shade and a translucent fabric diffuser to shield the upward-facing light source. Cortina is available in heights ranging from 24” to 72”. • Tom Dixon Mirror Ball Floor Lamp
    ylighting.com
Design by Tom Dixon.Blown like bubble gum into a mould, these plastic spheres are metalized internally to give a mirrored finish. This internal metallic design focuses the brightness from the lamp, projecting a soft, broad beam of light. The external chrome surface has the added benefit of making the exterior highly reflective providing further character to an interior space. Mirror Ball is formed using a technically advanced process of vacuum metallisation. The process involves vaporizing a small amount of pure metal at a very high temperature and then sucking it on to a surface by applying an electrical charge. Extremely small holes can appear at times within the metal coating due to environmental conditions. The Mirror Ball floor lamp comes with 157" of clear cord with on/off foot switch for use on the floor and with the Tripod Stand fitting for use with the Tripod Stand. The Tripod stand is not included.
  • Pablo Designs Pablo Clamp Floor Lamp
    shophorne.com
Understated beauty and an uncompromising level of utility are key to the Pablo design philosophy,” says designer Dana Cannam on his inspiration for Clamp. “The opportunity to extend that sensitivity to a material as essential as wood was a natural transition.” Clamp continues Pablo’s tradition of offering simple, efficient pieces by combining two basic elements — wood and light — in a seemingly oppositional pairing of the natural and the technological. While warm, North American hardwood composes its frame, the most sustainable, energy efficient LED technology comprises its light source. Designed for versatility and portability, the Clamp, freestanding, floor and mini models all include a minimal number of parts that enable infinite adjustment of its warm, diffused light. Designed by Dana Cannam 2011-2012. Features: 360 degree arm rotation. Advanced LED array eliminates multiple shadows. Hi-low dim control. White Oak or Walnut Finishes. Specifications: Light Source: LED array. Voltage 120/220V 60Hz. Power Consumption: 9W. Color Temperature: 3000K. Luminosity: 485 Lumens. 50K Hour Lifespan. • George Nelson Bubble Lamp - Pear Floor Lamp
    shophorne.com
First designed in 1947, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp Collection has stood the test of time. The simple structural shapes with the innovative use of taut plastic over fine steel wire were born from George NelsonÕs frustration to buy a Swedish-made silk lamp which produced a soft light. This unique use of shape and material produces a diffused light that is free of glare while offering an abundance of illumination. These pieces are part of the permanent collection in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and remain icons in modern lighting. Herman Miller now uses George Nelson's original materials and methods to hand craft each piece. The George Nelson Bubble Light Pear Floor Lamp is built to become a family heirloom. The brushed nickel plated steel frame has a weighted brushed steel or walnut covered base. The Lamp is available in two sizes with a 9 foot cord and easy on/off floor switch.
  • Louis Poulsen PH 3-2.5 Bollard Floor Lamp
    ylighting.com
Design by Poul Henningsen.By Louis Poulsen.PH 3-2.5 Bollard is a member of the PH 3-shade family, and the principle behind the PH 3-shade fixture was made in a few hectic months in the winter of 1925-26 for a large exhibition hall in Copenhagen, Denmark called "Forum". This is what Poul Henningsen said about his new fixture in 1926: "The real innovation in the PH-fixture is that it produces lighting which is both glare free and economical. It is easy enough to create glare-free light (indirect and strongly shaded light) if a portion of the light is allowed to be wasted, and it is equally easy to make fixtures which are highly efficient if you ignore the fact that they severely irritate the eye (strong specular reflection, etc.) but it is an art to make light both economical and glare free". The combination of diffused reflection and a logarithmic shade curve also gave PH the opportunity to control the fixture's glare and shading. The luminance transitions from shade to shade would also appear harmonic. The PH3-shade system started out as a pendant solution but very quickly it also developed into other kinds of fixtures for tables, floors, walls and a great number of different chandeliers. The fixture is designed based on the principle of a reflective three-shade system, which directs the majority of the light downwards. The shades have a matte white painted interior surface, diffusing the light in a comfortable way.Made from materials that can endure various weather conditionsPerfect for entrances and placement around the perimeter of corporate areas and private residencesSuitable for gardens and drive/walkways Material: Top, middle, and lower shade: Spun stainless steel. Shadeholder: Die formed glass. Post and Base: Stainless steel.Mounting: Base plate dimension: 5.9" diameter. • Marset Funiculi Floor Lamp
    ylighting.com
Design by Luis Porqueras, 1979.By Marset. The Funiculi is a new edition of a lamp designed in 1979. Luis Porqueras has always sought an absolute simplicity in his designs, doing away with everything superfluous to leave the essence of the useful, simple object. Thirty years later, Funiculi remains highly contemporary, both in its purist forms and in its features. The name Funiculi comes from the concept of a "funicular" action - moving up and down. The mechanism for raising and lowering the lamp uses a pair of clips which make the height of the shade adaptable to any user's needs. The shade itself can be rotated 360? to point the beam of light wherever it is required. The base of the lamp is covered in rubber on the bottom to avoid the cold contact between the metal and the floor while adding stability to the lamp. Funiculi is offered in black, white, red, and moss grey.Shown in moss grey.

  • Louis Poulsen PH 80 Floor Lamp
    shophorne.com
The iconic three shade system of the PH series of lighting fixtures was created in 1925/1926 by Poul Henningsen for an exhibition in Paris. The designer was determined to produce glare free lighting that was directed where it was needed most while creating soft shadows. The three shade system creates an even distribution of light as each shade reduces the light equally due to their distance from the light source. This is the first lamp to have been created using the scientific model of the logarithmic spiral as a basis for light distribution. There have been approximately one thousand variations of the original lamp with several floor, table, wall, and pendant versions currently available. The PH 80 Floor Lamp was put into production on what was to be Poul Hennigsen’s 80th birthday. Henningsen was fascinated with the new world of plastics so the PH 80 is constructed of Acrylic. This makes for a less expensive product without compromising light quality. It has a 9 foot electrical cord with an inline foot switch and accepts a 100W max E26 base bulb (not included)
