I would love to wear this preppy, nautical style!!!! It is so classic, stylish and very comfortable all at the same time!!! The watch is the perfect accessory to this outfit and adds a subtle elegance to the whole look, which I love!!

Great advise Kate. I tend to mix texture and pattern in many of my sets, so not only am I incredibly picky about the colors looking the way I want. I also have to get the textures and patterns to mix just right. Most of my sets I get the clothes, then I add the shoes/bag, and then the jewelry. But on occasion I will find a piece of jewelry that has to go with shoes, or a bag and then I build around that. Usually it has to do with how their texture/pattern plays off each other. Then there are the sets that I know I was going someplace with them but it's been so long I can't really remember. I know that there has been this one dress and shoes that has been there since I became I member! I also have lots of complete "outfits" but no jewelry. I think once I figure out "where" I'm going it will be easier to finish up some of the 35 pages worth of drafts I have. I've tried deleting, but I really love most the pieces.

I think the depth of the photo enriches the colors in the set. It makes the bag and the watch look quite intense, which is important because they are sleek, simple pieces and are where the eye is drawn. I think this combination is quite successful. P.S. My technique is to pick out pieces I like with whatever I have on the page; then everything else has to work with that. In other words, if I found jewelry I liked with the skirt or shorts or whatever I had on the bottom, I would look for a top that went with both. I also have an order in which I select pieces, so that I would usually have the top and bottom picked before I looked for jewelry. But sometimes I find an intriguing piece of jewelry to start a set. Then the jewels rule. This may not work for everyone, but I thought I'd pass it along since you raised the subject. Have fun with all those drafts!
