  • Crate & Barrel Morning Rooster Print
    crateandbarrel.com
Alexandra Carter reimagines the iconic farmyard rooster, rendering the rustic and familiar in fresh, painterly washes of deep blue, red and browns. Although appearing as a traditional watercolor, the work is the result of an unusual technique by which Carter applies pools of ink to waterproof yupo paper, allowing the pigment to traverse across the non-porous surface in unpredictable ways. Our limited-edition giclée reproduction of the original painting is printed on paper and hand signed by the artist. Each print is framed in pine with a matte black finish.

Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird, c.1940 by Frida Kahlo is a Framed Art Print expertly set in a SOHO Thin frame. Iconic Mexican painter Frida Kahlo (1907- 1954) created striking artworks that were a visual diary of a lifetime of physical and emotional pain and her turbulent marriage to fellow artist Diego Rivera. A polio survivor, Kahlo was gravely injured in a bus accident at age 18, and began painting in bed during her year-long convalescence. Kahlo suffered through 30 subsequent operations and a partial amputation of her right leg. She expressed much of her anguish through penetrating self-portraits that were intentionally Naïve, and filled with the bright colors and flattened forms of the Mexican folk art she adored. During her lifetime, Kahlo created more than 200 paintings, drawings and sketches, and was the first woman to sell a painting to the world-renowned Louvre Museum in Paris. Dimensions: 1" wide x 18" long/deep x 14" high. Material: Wood/Paper. Made in the USA. Care Instructions : Quality construction ensures lasting durability. Clean with a dry towell. Made in the USA.
