  • Mater Shell Lounge Chair - Brown Saddle Leather, Soaped Oak
    shophorne.com
The Shell Chair is developed out of Michael Dreebens ongoing interest in traditional craft practices in North India - in this case saddle making. Exquisitely made saddles have been produced in India for centuries, and although some horse culture persists, it's waning as India becomes more technologically developed. The Shell Chairs attempt to incentivize this skilled trade by providing these artisans with a new market for their craft, and hopefully encouraging them to pass it on to younger generations. The shape of the chair is an homage to Scandinavian design of the mid-twentieth century and embraces some of its core values: it's clean of line and is intended to emphasize the leather forming and stitching, it's deeply comfortable, and it's durable – like the saddles it's derived from, it's crafted from thick, top-grain leather, and with reasonable care, will last for decades. Frame: Soaped Oak. Leather: Premium brown saddle leather

Fan is a modern take on the classical Windsor chair. A British archetype converted to a contemporary silhouette, Fan makes an exclamation mark in any environment. The process involves spindles of wood carefully turned, thinned and steam bent to create the slatted silhouette. The wood is then treated to leave a natural finish. Fan has a black leather seat pad.
  • Jeffrey Bernett, Nicholas Dodziuk and Piotr Woronkowicz Parallel Queen Bed in Leather, Oak
    dwr.com
Designer Jeffrey Bernett was being a bit cheeky with the name of his Parallel Bedroom Collection (2013), given that it features beds with headboards shaped more like trapezoids. However, we think the name still fits because this is indeed a collection without parallel when it comes to choices. You can equip your bed with a standard or extra-wide headboard, oak or walnut frame and fabric or leather upholstery, then opt for side tables and under-bed storage, as well as dressers tall and wide. Parallel is more than a bed – it’s a system for an entire room. Assembly required for beds. Made in U.S.A.

  • Essey Grand Illusion Side Table - Clear
    shophorne.com
Illusion is a timeless statement of beauty, simplicity and functionality. As with so many great designs, inspiration is often derived from a story: "One day I was passing a Café in Copenhagen. There were round tables with white tablecloths. Each cloth was square and almost touched the floor. I stopped and took couple photos. I then went to a plastic workshop, showed them the image and asked if it was possible to make such an object in plastic. The answer was no. But I continued my quest and after a few months some samples were ready. The result was Illusion, a stunning example of Symbolic Functionalism that has received an extremely enthusiastic reception from both the press and consumers." John Brauer, designer. All Illusion tables are hand made and thus are slightly unique.
  • George Nelson Nelson Pedestal Stool
    dwr.com
Director of design at Herman Miller from 1945 to 1972, George Nelson helped make the company what it is today. He not only recruited influential designers Charles and Ray Eames and Isamu Noguchi but also created a portfolio of work that helped shape and grow modern design. His Pedestal Stool (1954) fits very well in casual spaces that require easy-to-rearrange seating. It features the clean lines and elegant simplicity typical of Nelson, with an upholstered seat pad that echoes Nelson’s iconic Marshmallow Sofa and the same sculptural white aluminum base as Nelson pedestal tables, its siblings. Designed to be functional yet unobtrusive, this stool is small enough to store in a closet when not in use. Eco-friendly as it is sightly, its polyester upholstery is devoid of antimony, a known industrial pollutant. Mix and match colors to liven up living spaces, or stick to one hue for bold uniformity. Self-leveling glides adjust to uneven floor surfaces. This original is an authentic product of Herman Miller, Inc. Nelson is a trademark of Herman Miller. Made in U.S.A.
  • Philippe Starck Louis Ghost Chair, Set of 2
    dwr.com
Who else but Philippe Starck would dare mess with a king? Reinventing the classic Louis XVI armchair for Kartell, the playful Louis Ghost Armchair (2002) is a postmodern triumph of technical innovation and historical style. Translating the varied lines and formal geometry of its predecessor into a single form of injection-molded polycarbonate, the Louis Ghost is a robust chair with a medallion backrest for leisurely comfort. When interviewed about the collection by the Dallas Morning News, Starck commented that it “has a mix ofand styles based on our shared memories. We all own this piece in a way. The chair is well balanced; I try to be balanced myself.” Suitable for indoor and outdoor use in residential and commercial settings. Stacks six high. Made in Italy. Sold as a Set of 2. The single-piece injection-molding process used in making every Ghost Chair leaves behind several faint artifacts that are perfectly normal, not defects.
  • Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk Raleigh Armchair in Leather
    dwr.com
Raleigh (2009) is a comfortable collection that draws from midcentury Danish design. It features an exposed solid wood frame that wraps around the back (be sure to click on additional views above to see it) to support the seating area while lending visual lightness and satisfying tension to the whole. Unlike other exposed-frame collections that force overly upright sitting positions, Raleigh is designed with a carefully canted seatback for a more natural way of situating yourself as you relax and unwind. We chose to work with Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk on this project because of the importance they place on people – how they move, interact, live and, most of all, sit. The Raleigh Collection received Interior Design magazine’s top honor for 2010 in the residential lounge category. Made in U.S.A.
  • Jeffrey Bernett and Nicholas Dodziuk Reid Corner Sectional in Leather
    dwr.com
Not just for sitting, the Reid Collection (2007) invites you to watch movies, take a nap or surf on a laptop. Maximizing the enjoyment of downtime is something Jeffrey Bernett is passionate about since he spends a fair bit of his free time doing extreme sports, and he held nothing back when creating Reid with design partner Nicholas Dodziuk. Unlike sofas where you sit "on top" of the cushions, the experience of Reid is more of a "relaxed sit" thanks to down- and feather-wrapped foam. The back cushions are filled with a soft blend of down and feathers, the seat depths suit various lounging positions and the wide armrests offer support from elbow to wrist. Made in U.S.A. This comfortable Sectional is upholstered with whole hides of the best leather, which means that there are very few seams. Discreet legs further the streamlined appearance. Reid Single Seater and Corner pieces can be used to expand this Sectional.
  • Charles and Ray Eames Eames® Wire Chair with Bikini Pad (DKR.2)
    dwr.com
After refining their molded plastic chairs, Charles and Ray Eames began experimenting with making a chair from welded wire. To succeed, the Eameses had to figure out how to create a design with the strength they needed while keeping manufacturing costs as low as possible. Ultimately, they decided on using lighter-gauge wire doubled over into a rim that sandwiches heavier inner wire to form their Eames Wire Chair (1951), which won them their first American mechanical design patent. Its organic shape and airy silhouette are complemented by what’s commonly referred to as an Eiffel base (because of its trademark shape). This is an authentic Eames product by Herman Miller. Commercial quality. Made in U.S.A. DKR.2 stands for dining height, wire shell, rod base, bikini pad.
  • Ted Boerner Theatre Sofa in Ultrasuede
    dwr.com
As a theater and dance student at the University of West Virginia, Ted Boerner developed an intuitive sense of the body and the space it occupies – an awareness that now lends his furniture its genial angles and careful proportions. He attended NYU for grad school, and began his career as a set and costume designer. “Propping scenes and imagining the things that characters would surround themselves with made me think about how important furniture is to people,” says the designer. Modern sofas often claim minimalist appeal, but few can also tout the comfort of the Theatre Collection (2001). Designed to accommodate the human body with studied proportions and simple geometry, Theatre’s comfort stems from its form rather than excessive layers of stuffing. With a gently angled backrest, full seat depth and elevated armrests, Boerner’s signature artisan details are evident throughout. A gleaming chromed steel base runs the entire depth of the design, and welted seams lend strength and definition to the upholstery. Ships with legs unattached to save on packing. Made in U.S.A.
