So many things that I wish you knew

I hopped into my suv and made my way to the preschool to pick up Maggie. My phone rang and I pushed the hands free button on the steering wheel to answer it. The screen on the dash said 'FELICIA BRAY'.

"Hey Leesh." I said.

"Cat! I'm glad I caught you. Can you do me a HUGE favor?" she asked.

"Of course." I said.

"I won't be able to get their in time to pick up Nadia. Can you swing by and get her for me. You're on the emergency card." she said.

"Absolutely. I'm on my way to pick up Maggie right now, and the daycare is right down the street. I'll take them to get icecream." I said.

"Great. I'll meet you at the apartment. Thank you so much darlin!" she said.

"You're welcome. Bye." I said, pressing the button to hang up the phone.

I pulled into the parking lot of the preschool and walked in to get Maggie. The lady at the office told me to wait while she called over the intercom.

'Miss Dryer..." she announced.

"Yes!" the muffled voice said over the intercom.

"Margaret Sewell's mother is here to pick her up." she said.

"Thank you!" said the muffled voice.

After a few minutes of waiting I heard little footsteps running up the hallway. Here came Maggie, almost tripping out of her shoes, and almost dropping the new owl backpack that she absolutely /had/ to have.

"Mommy!" she squealed.

"Hey babydoll. Are you ready to go?" I asked.

"Yep. Wait! There's my friend. Can I say bye to her?" she asked.

"Yes, but be quick. We have to go get Nadia." I said.

I walked over with Maggie, and introduced myself to her father.

"Hi. I'm Catherine Sewell." I said.

"Leonardo Balletto. Nice to meet you." he said.

He had gorgeous eyes, and his smile was amazing. His accent wasn't too bad either. Was it English, or Australian? I was pondering this for a few seconds, when I realized I was still shaking his hand.

"Oh. Sorry. Um, Maggie just wanted to say goodbye to her friend." I said.

"Well, it was nice to meet you Catherine. And you too Maggie." he said.

I waved goodbye as we were walking away, and I felt like a complete idiot. What was that? Didn't I come here to get men off of my mind. Perhaps dad was right. I was just like my mother -- men were always on my mind.
