  • Vitra Miniature Heart-Shaped Cone Chair
    lumens.com
Released in 1959, the Heart-Shaped Cone Chair by Verner Panton was a particularly distinctive take on the classic wing chair. More than that, it embodied the transition of Scandinavian design from wood and formal austerity to brighter and more sculptural offerings, made possible by new materials like plastic and wire mesh. Like the original, the Vitra Miniature Heart-Shaped Cone Chair is made out of fiberglass-reinforced plastic covered in bright red upholstery.

  • Vitra - Occasional Lounge Chair, grau
    connox.com
Modern, Simplistic Armchair The Occasional Lounge Chair by Jasper Morrison for Vitra is a modern, simplistic armchair. With its charming compact design, the armchair is perfect for hotels, lobbies and waiting areas as part of a group of upholstered chairs, or at home where it would look great as an individual stand-out piece. Cubic Armchair As an outward shape, the Vitra armchair looks cubic, with clean lines, straight edges and a polygonal body that tapers downward. Its appearance is so discreet, that is works just as well as part of a group of chairs, as it does as an individual stand-out piece. Organic, Softly Rounded In contrast to the straight-lined silhouette, the armchair’s seat is organic and softly-rounded. With the Occasional Lounge Chair's compact dimensions, the seat cushion and backrest convey a sense of well-being and a level of comfort that would not be expected at first glance. The Occasional Lounge Chair by Jasper Morrison for Vitra is available in different coloured fabric and leather.

  • Vitra - Miniature Well Tempered Chair
    connox.com
Ron Arad is one of the liveliest and most productive figures in contemporary designs. He contrasts polished, stylish commercial design with highly poetic objects with an archaic feel to them. In the framework of the »Vitra Edition« he created the »Well Tempered Chair«. Its form is not the product of artificially shaping the sheet steel but is instead generated by screwing the tensile sheets into arches. Given its flexibility, the spring steel always bounces back into its original shape. The armchair is therefore not just a brilliant formal idea but also conveys a completely new feel for sitting. The original of the Well Tempered Chair was designed by Ron Arad in 1986 and it is produced as 1:1 model by the Vitra AG, Basel/Switzerland, since 1986-1987. The here offered miniature by Vitra (scale 1:6) consists of spring-steel.

The Coconut Chair is a typical 1950s design, it stands out for its humorous touch, formal clarity and minimal use of materials. Nelson himself compared it with a coconut cut into eight parts and inverted the coconut. The plastic seat shell is white, while the single-section upholstery comes in a variety of colours. This return to the natural spatial shape of a shell enabled Nelson to create an inviting, comfortable armchair that offers users the freedom to sit in countless different positions. White shell with hopsak fabric seat pad available in dark grey, orange, nero, petrol/chocolate, nero/chocolate, chocolate/grey, grey, avocado, cognac/avocado, red/cognac, cognac, red/champagne or red/orange (also available in leather see related product)

  • Vitra - Plywood Group LCW Chair
    connox.com
The LCW Chair was designed for Vitra by the designer couple Charles and Ray Eames as a part of the Plywood Group Collection. LCW stands for "Lounge Chair Wood": LCW is an elegant lounge chair and is made of the best wood. Charles and Ray Eames spent many years experimenting with new processes for optimizing the way three-dimensionally moulded plywood fits the contours of the body. The result was the Plywood Group, with its moulded plywood seat, backrest and base. The organic shape and the wood's cosy warmth invite users to sit down and relax. For the production of the Plywood Group are wood layers bent. The thin wood shells from back to seat support the body with lightly bent areas. The single elements are tied up with elastic rubber layers on the base. They give you extra comfort. The meeting with the legendary designer couple Charles and Ray Eames was for Vitra a fundamental meaning: With the production of their designs in 1957 started the history of the manufacturer as a furniture producer. Charles and Ray Eames impressed Vitra a lot. The LCW Chair is also available in different colours and with felt cover. Design by Charles Eames & Eero Saarinen, 1940.Originally designed for the "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition held by the Museum of Modern Art, Eames and Saarinen created a variety of versions of the Organic Chair each intended for a different sitting position. The designs were ahead of their time but the Organic Chair never went into production due to a lack in technology. Not until after 1950 was it possible to produce and distribute large numbers of organically molded seat shells. Now over 70 years since it was originally designed, the Organic Chair continues to make it's way into modern interiors everywhere. The Organic Highback Chair was designed with black beech legs and a supportive high backrest that makes a comfortable place to lounge or seat guests. The Highback version offers added benefits such as extra neck support and a broader seat, while the Standard and Conference versions are purposefully designed to suit a range of modern day needs.Available in a variety of colors.

The Organic Chair is a comfortable small reading chair and was made in 1940 as a contribution to the New York MoMA's "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition. Formally speaking it was ahead of its time, but owing to the lack of manufacturing techniques, never went into series production. It was not until after 1950 that it became possible to manufacture larger quantities of organically shaped seat shells and market them. The first were chairs such as Eames' famous Plastic Armchair or Saarinen's Tulip Chair. Collection Vitra Design Museum.

  • Vitra - Eames Plastic Armchair DAX
    connox.com
Timeless classic chair The Vitra Eames Plastic Chairs , by now, belong to the absolute design classics in the living area. In 1950, the Eames Chair was the first serially produced plastic chair in the history of furniture. Thus, the Chair is more than just a piece of furniture - but a piece of cultural history. The multifunctional chair with different seat shells and bases is widely deployed. A genuine all-rounder in the residential and contract sector. Classic form - new seat height The Eames plastic armchair DAX (dining height armchair X-base) is offered by Vitra, in many different varieties, colours and with different bases. Like that, the Chair can be put together according to your own ideas. Since 2015, the base has been available with a new height of 43 cm. This is how Vitra reacts on the averagely increasing body size since the first production in 1950. With the adapted height, the Plastic side Chair by Charles and Ray Eames provides special seating comfort. Due to the low altitude "old" and "new" versions of the Chair can however be mixed safely so that already existing seating with the new chairs can be added. Multifunctional chair With the restrained form of polypropylene seat and the delicate support structure, the Plastic Side and armchairs are absolute living area classics. But not only in the living area also in waiting areas, cafés, universities and other institutions, the classic is omnipresent.
