-Parachute, Forever & Always (Saddest song EVER)

It’s taken me so long to write this story. I think I started this at least 3 months ago. It’s just so hard to let go. Ava is my favorite roleplay character I’ve ever had. I’ve also never connected so well with the people in a roleplay. Here’s my final goodbye to the original NWH. Beware: It is extremely cheesy, but I wanted a complete and happy ending.
.
Previous Stories’ Summary: Ava’s sister, Taylor, she got into accident after drinking while driving and almost died. Instead of arresting her for a DUI since it was her first offense, the police gave her a minor fine and an involuntary admission to rehab. After treatment and a full month of sobriety, she was released. Ava, and their other sister Sam, worked to mend their relationship with Taylor. To keep an eye on her, Ava and Marcus had Taylor move in with them. Sam and her husband, David, moved to Tree Hill to be closer to Taylor and Ava. Marcus’s back started acting up again and it turned out to be more serious than they thought. He had to quit basketball for good this time. But he wasn’t jobless for very long. He and his former agent actually started their own agency together. Ava was also forced to get a new job after the studio went under. She became an English teacher at Tree Hill High.
And that’s what you missed on Glee. (Kidding.)
Warning: this is a long story.

THREE YEARS LATER

“Are you sure you have my cell number? I’ll be happy to write it down again,” I double checked with Taylor.

“Yes for the a thousandth time, I have your number. I have your number, Marcus’s number, Sam’s number, David’s number, Oli & Tom’s number, Lexi’s number; you’ve given me half of Tree Hill’ phone numbers,” Taylor rolled her eyes.

“I’m sorry, I’m being so annoying. But it’s the first time BOTH Marcus and I are going to be out, since Dylann’s come home.”

“I know, I know”, she sighed. “You’re the best mom in Tree Hill, but with that role comes being a worrying, crazy woman.”

I laughed. “I wish I recorded that, so I could rub it in Sam’s face!”

A flash of worry came across her face. “Don’t you dare, Ava Scott Kingsley!”

Three months after Taylor’s accident, Samantha found out she was pregnant. I guess twins run in the family, because on July 1st , 2009, my two perfect nieces were brought into this world.

Emma loves her little baby cousins more than anything in the world. She has been at Sam and David’s house literally every single day since they came home from the hospital. She is obsessed. Matt loves them too, but baby bottles and little cradles aren’t exactly his “thing”.

“Don’t worry, your secret is safe…. for now,” I grinned at her. “I’m just playing with you, I know you didn’t mean it.”

“You know, I kind of want some of my own little babies.” She said casually.

“WHAT?!” I jumped up from my seat at the counter. (I was waiting for Marcus to come back after dropping Emma off at Lex’s house for a sleepover with Rose, and Matt off at a sleepover with Riley at Oli & Tom’s house.)

“Tyler and I have discussed it once or twice”, she shrugged.

I playfully punched her in the arm. “Stop being so casual about this! My little grown up, perfectly sober sister is going to have a little baby of her own! Yay yay yay!”

“One, I’m four years older than you LITTLE sis”, she crossed her arms, but still had a playful expression on her face. “Two, don’t get ahead of yourself. We’re just talking. Ty hasn’t even popped the question yet!”

“Oh, it’s just a matter of time! I bet he already has the ring. And then after the wedding, you’ll have a honeymoon, and then BOOM I’ll have another beautiful niece or my first handsome nephew!” I grinned.

“He already has the ring,” she murmured, twisting her hair around her finger.

“WHAT!” I jumped up again.

“We picked it out together. He wanted to make sure it was the perfect ring, and he has horrible taste in jewelry, so he didn’t trust himself to find that perfect ring.” She explained. “But the proposal will still be a surprise. I don’t know how or when. But like you said, it’s only a matter of time.”

I threw my arms around her and gave her a big hug. “Congratulations, Tay! You truly deserve it. I’m so proud of you. You’re one of the strongest people I know. You’ll make an amazing fiancé and soon an even more amazing mother.”

“Thanks. You know I couldn’t have changed if it wasn’t for you. I love you, Ava.”

“Love you too, Taylor.” I smiled. “Forever and always”.

Marcus pulled into the driveway and honked his horn. “Guess that’s my cue!” I smiled.

I ran quickly to Dylann’s room. She was still sleeping quietly in her little crib. As much as I wanted to pick her up and hold her in my arms, I couldn’t disturb her. She looked too peaceful.

Dylann was a wonderful surprise. Maybe even the best of my life. Not a mistake, just a surprise. One night, Taylor was out at an alcohol free party to celebrate her 2 years of sobriety with her friends from AA, and Matt & Emma were sleeping over at Sam’s house. We were careless and well, you know what happened next.

I thought I was getting the stomach flu, but then I realized that I was late that month. I took a test—actually I took multiple tests—and the answers were always positive.

Emma was so excited to have a little sister. She loves anything that has to do with babies. Matt wasn’t too happy, but after talking with him, he warmed up to the idea. Now he’s the best big brother in the world.

She had her first birthday a week ago. She’s always giggling and crawling all over the place. She’s a little ball of energy.

Anyhow, back to present day, I gave Dylann a light kiss on her forehead. I was careful not to wake her.

I walked back down the hallway. “She’s still asleep, but be sure to feed her when she wakes up. The bottles are—“

“In the fridge behind the leftover pizza. I know, Ava. Put your worries aside for one night. One, single, night.” She crossed her arms.

“Okay okay.” I sighed. “Love you Tay Tay. Take care of my little baby!”

“Just go!” She shooed me out.

“You look gorgeous, like always”, Marcus commented, kissing me, as soon as I got into the car.

“You know how to get lucky”, I winked, giving him a long kiss back. “But not tonight.”

“No, you’re right. Not tonight. Tonight is just me and you OUT together”, he agreed.

“So where is this mystery place you’re taking me to?” I asked him.

“Actually multiple places,” he grinned.

We stopped at Tree Hill High. “This is where it all began.” He began.

“You were failing epically, and needed to keep your grades up for basketball,” I smiled.

“And I was lucky enough to have you as my tutor,” he finished.

“So what are we really doing here?” I asked.

“I want to take you on a journey. Our journey. And here is your token for this stop.” He handed me a box.

I recognized it immediately. It was the school related care package I gave him when we were first beginning to like each other. “You kept this?” I gasped.

“Of course,” he smiled.

Next we took a ride over to my old house that I grew up in. He got out of the car and picked up a rock from the lawn and got back into the car.

“Our first kiss”, I bit my lip. “You screwed up again and were throwing rocks to try to get me to come out so you could apologize. But you sucked at apologies, so you kissed me instead.

“It’s not THE rock, but it works too”, he grinned.

Next stop was to where we eloped. Instead of giving me something new, he kissed the ring on my finger. “The best token of our journey”.

Then we went to the hospital where I gave birth to the three best kids in the entire world. He pulled out of the backseat the three birth certificates. What was different about them is they were in gold frames. “For our bedroom wall”, he smiled.

“It’s perfect”, I breathed, pulling him closer to me. “I love you so much”.

“Wait, the journey’s not over yet. There’s one more place left”, he pulled away.

I sat back down into my seat, confused. Where else could we go?

He drove the familiar route to the river court. “So many memories have been made here, but what’s particularly significant?”

“Just wait”, he grinned.

We stopped at the lot. I gasped at the sight. The entire court was bordered by candles. On the court was a picnic basket and a blanket. “Dinner awaits”, Marc said, pulling me to the court.

After we ate and drank the champagne, we sat in peaceful silence. My head resting in his lap. “Are you ready for the next step in our journey?”

I sat up and smiled. “I’m ready.”

He got down on one knee. “Ava Kingsley, will you marry me?”

“What?” I asked, shocked and confused. In his hand was the most beautiful ring I have ever seen. Twice the size of the one I have now. But…. We’re already married…

He saw the confusion on my face. “Ava, when we were 16 we eloped. It was simple and perfect. It was everything we wanted then. But I know for a fact that that was not what you dreamed about. I see how happy you get when you go to a wedding. A real wedding—a planned wedding. You spend hours gushing to me about the bride’s hair and dress, the bridesmaids’ dresses, the flowers, the music, the reception etc. You deserve to have your own fairytale wedding. Now that the agency is successful and the recording studio is back in business, we finally have enough money to afford your dream wedding. So, Mrs. Ava Kingsley, will you renew your vows with me?”

My face broke out into a huge smile. “Yes! Marcus of course!” I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him in for a kiss.

He helped me put the ring on my finger. It matched perfectly with my first ring. “This is your token”.

“And this place? The River Court? This is where I proposed to you for the second time.”

THREE MONTHS AND CRAZY PLANNING LATER

“You look perfect”, Taylor grinned.

“The most beautiful bride I have ever seen”, Samantha grinned.

“Stop it! You’re going to make me cry. And Lo will seriously kill me if I mess up this make up.” I carefully dabbed my eyes.

My sisters are both, of course, part of my wedding. Taylor is the maid of honor and Sam is the matron of honor.

My beautiful nieces are flower girls with Emma and Dylann. And Matt is the ring bearer. The five of them look absolutely adorable together.

Lo, Alaska, Lexi, Ana, Oli, Quinn, Kay, Sienna, and Mel are all bridesmaids of course. Speaking of bridesmaids, the of them came bustling through the door. Although they’ve seen the dress plenty of times the OOHs and AHHs went on for a little while.

“Thanks for actually inviting us, this time,” Lex teased me.

“I’m sorry, next time we decide to elope, we’ll send you an e-vite”, I teased right back to her.

She gave me a huge hug. “You look so beautiful, Av”.

“As do you”, I grinned. “As do ALL of you”, I added to the whole group.

Thomas, Marcus’s best man, came in. “Well aren’t you just a little bridezilla with all of these girls working over you”. (Lo was touching up my make up and Sam & Taylor were hairspraying my hair again, so it wouldn’t frizz)

Annoyingly for the girls, I ran over to Tom and gave him a huge hug.

"Be careful with your dress!" Quinn shouted in the background, as I was running into his arms.

“You look stunning”, he grinned at me.

Olivia jokingly cleared her throat behind us.

“You’re alright too, I guess”, he teased her.

“They’re ready for you girls” he told all of us.

“Knock ‘em dead”, he winked at me and gave a quick kiss to Oli before running back to the ceremony room.

“Yay yay yay!” Alaska squealed, as we walked down the hall. “I love weddings!”

We got to the doors. The organs started to play. Everyone went and then it was finally my turn.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.

When I opened them I was staring at my best friends, my nieces, my sisters, my children and of course, my husband.

I was looking at all of the loves of my life.

No matter what happens, no matter where we go or who we see, we will always have each other.

Forever & Always,

Ava

I, I want you forever, forever and always
Through the good and the bad and the ugly
We'll grow old together
Forever and always

Stay, there forever, forever and always
Through the good and the bad and the ugly
We'll grow old together, and always remember
Whether rich or for poor or for better
We'll still love each other, forever and always

She finishes the vows but his beeps are getting too slow
His voice is almost too low
As he says, I love you forever, forever and always
Please just remember even if I'm not there
I'll always love you, forever and always

- Parachute, Forever & Always
(not the full song, just the parts that relate to Ava & Marcus)

* Side note: Technically, Dylann would be 5 years younger than the twins but for nwh next generation, I’m going to have her be either 3 or 4 years younger. It’s much easier for me for school purposes.

( comment ‘tears’ if you read it! It took so long to write, so I hope you enjoyed it. The set is horrible, but I wanted to show you what I imagined their wedding outfits would be and dolls are the easiest way to show them.)
