Looking at you,holding my breath,
For once in my life,I'm scared to death,
I'm taking a chance,letting you inside...
-----
"MASSIE, MASSIE! I need your help. This is an EMERGENCY!" I shouted into the phone.
"Claire, what's wrong?" she asked.
"Cam is taking me on a date at the nicest restaurant in Westchester. What in the WORLD should I wear?" I asked.
"Okay kuh-lair, just take it down an octave. I'll be there in a minute to help." she said.
---
Claire kissed her mother and father goodbye as she walked out to Cam's car.
"Don't stay out too late Claire. Do you have your phone with you?" my mom worried.
"Yes mom. I promise! Now I have to go. Bye." I shouted as I ran out the door.
I slowed my stride as I approached the car. It was a sleek and sexy sports car that he had gotten for his seventeenth birthday. He got out of the car as I reached the door.
"Wait! I'm supposed to open it for you." he said. "You look amazing."
He kissed me before opening the door, and then we were off. It was the nicest restaurant in Westchester, and incredibly expensive. I was feeling guilty that he wanted to pay the whole bill. We arrived at the restaurant, and it was completely filled with people over the age of thirty. Every man's eye was on me, and every woman was frowning at their man. It seemed as though they were sat in the very back of the restaurant, and she got butterflies. They could do anything they wanted, and nobody would be able to see them. They ordered and ate, and then just spent the rest of the time talking about whatever. Then Claire realized there was music playing, and people were slow dancing.
"Hey, do you want to dance?" Cam asked.
"Um, are we allowed?" I said.
"Of course! Come on." he said.
We danced and danced. Being the youngest couple on the dance floor made us stand out. I was silently thanking Massie for her fabulous skills where fashion is concerned. That was the night I got my first kiss.
