So. Thanks to this group, I'm now listening to ONO. There's a bit here about that.
Alex and Emily are such bad influences.
September 27 – Char’s party
Monroe 7.08 am
“Monday! Oh glorious, Monday! Isn’t Monday the best time of the week?” I exclaimed happily to Lizzie Davis who stared back at me sourly.
“Monday means school. School sucks. Ergo, Monday sucks.” Lizzie scoffed.
“Oh Lizzie, good for you! You learned something from our lesson in Logic and Argument!” I beamed and Lizzie rolled her eyes.
“Why are you so disgustingly happy anyway? You’re usually grumpy on Mondays…” She asked.
I sighed dreamily. “Everything is right in the world Liz! The weather is perfect—“
“It’s raining outside.”
“…we live in a free country—”
“With bad healthcare plans.”
“…and Owen loves me.”
“Ah. I see.”
I turned to her and caught her smiling. “So this is what it’s about, huh? Owen finally mans up and reassures you that he loves you.”
I nodded, the huge smile never left my face. “Oh god Lizzie, it’s the Best. Feeling. EVAR!” I giggled. “I feel loved. And I want to share that love! And you know the best way to share that love?”
“As long as you don’t hug me w—”
I threw my arms around Lizzie and hugged her tightly.
“Geroff me!” Lizzie coughed and laughed at the same time. “I can’t breathe!”
A few people along the corridors started to stare. A group of sophomore boys took out their cellphones and chanted “Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” Lizzie was still squirming away. I had to let her go eventually because she said her arms were turning blue.
We walked together to the Physics lab (our first class of the day) when we ran into Charlotte Warner.
“CHAR!!” I screamed and gave her a big hug.
“Someone took a happy pill today.” Char laughed. I stepped back and giggled. “Hey, you guys are gonna be at my party tonight, right?”
“Count me in!” I beamed.
“I’ll try.” Lizzie smiled politely.
“Great!” Char exclaimed. “See you guys later.”
We started to walk and haven’t made a couple of steps when I saw cool cat Elena Rivera walking her head bobbing as she sing along to something that goes “Just for tonight …just maybe we've made it…”
Lizzie waved to her and said hi but that drowned when I shouted Elena’s name.
“ELENA!!” I hugged her just as I did with Char. She jumped back and froze. Her eyes widened in surprise.
“Er, hi?” She replied unsurely, patting my back awkwardly.
I beamed back at her and started to walk along. Elena walked to the other direction and shook her head, probably wondering why some random Asian chick was hugging her so early in the morning.
Char’s Party; 8:11 p.m.
“Oh my god Charlotte, you look amazing!” I squealed when I saw her at the party.
Char giggled. “You picked out this outfit!”
“Oh right.” I giggled along with her.
She handed me a glass of champagne and congratulated her for the nth time since we found out that she’ll have her first magazine cover.
“So tell me, what got you so happy?” Char asked as we walked to the bar.
I shrugged with a smile. “Owen has a lot to do with it. But you know what…I just got tired of worrying and trying to figure things out. So I’ve made up my mind to let everything go and be happy.”
“That easy, huh?”
I nodded. “Yep.”
“So you’re not even worried about your Elle shoot?” She asked, looking concerned. “I read it in Gossip Girl and aren’t Lizzie and Cam, like enemies?”
If she asked me about this a few days ago, I would have bawled and complained about it. But not anymore.
I smiled reassuringly at her. “Nope I’m not even worried. They’re both adults. I’m pretty sure they won’t do anything immature on the shoot. I trust them both.” I beamed as the bartender serves us our drinks.
Char smiled. “Here’s a toast,” She said, raising her cocktail. “To your first styling gig.”
“And to your first cover.” I added as I raised my martini glass. “Hopefully it wouldn’t be the last for both of us.”
“I’ll drink to that.”
Late and lame story I know.
But I just need to build up all that happy!ceci stuff because you should know by now that super happy!ceci is always followed by a super sad!ceci.
Drama will be brought to you by Cam and Liz. And then Owen.
